Tom Cruise’s impressive action scenes in ‘Mission Impossible 7’

Nearly two decades into his role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt in “Mission: Impossible 7,” Tom Cruise has taken the franchise to new heights with compelling stories and action-packed stunts.

Tom Cruise’s action in “Mission: Impossible 7” has impressed audiences.

Since its release in 1996, “Mission: Impossible” has undergone many changes while still maintaining the core elements of Tom Cruise and the promise of thrilling action.

The seventh installment in the series once again brings Tom Cruise back to the role of IMF agent Ethan Hunt, preparing to face bigger challenges than ever. With 6 films made over the past 27 years, Ethan Hunt has become one of the most iconic characters that Tom Cruise has helped create. And in “Mission: Impossible 7,” this elite agent once again faces major challenges.

The heavy action scenes are no match for Tom Cruise, even though the actor is over 60 years old.

“Mission: Impossible 7” incorporates old and new elements in a dramatic plot. Supporting Ethan Hunt in his fight against evil and corrupt officials is a core team that he has assembled throughout the series.

Set some time after the events of “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” the film follows Tom Cruise and his team on a mission to save the world from a sentient artificial intelligence. AI, also known as “entity,” has the potential to start the next world war. After a mysterious accident, a secret international arms race began with many world powers including the United States – competing for ownership of the “entity” in the hope of shaping the future to their advantage.

A series of action scenes contributed to bringing the series to a new level.

This time, Tom Cruise brought a race of speed, courage and new peak skills. Typically, the scene of riding a motorbike from a vertical cliff and parachuting onto a train along with the scene of driving down the mountainside. The pace of the film is urgent in the racing scenes, chasing, fighting on the train, even Tom Cruise’s running steps. An actor over 60 years old strides to run, fight, roll, perform dangerous action scenes that even his juniors in their twenties have to take their hats off in admiration.

Tom Cruise’s journey with “Mission Impossible” is also a journey in which the action superstar himself experiences “heavy” stunts without the need for a stuntman such as: facing a knife attack just a few inches from his eye in part 2; plunging into the middle of an explosion in part 3; flying through the window of the tallest building in the world in part 4; hanging from a plane at an altitude of 1,500 meters in part 5; jumping out of a plane at an altitude of over 7,000 meters, and breaking two ankle bones when jumping between two buildings in part 6.

With “Mission Impossible 7”, he added to the above impressive list of achievements with a record of 8 motorcycle crashes into deep ravines and 500 dangerous parachute jumps. Most amazingly, all of this was done when Tom Cruise just turned 60.

For Tom Cruise, the actor’s desire to give the audience an engaging cinematic experience is simply part of the job he is doing. “Doing stunts is what I have been doing all my life. I am an action actor, I express my character through the scenes. That’s how I tell my story,” the actor shared.

The character and acting in “Mission: Impossible 7” are highly appreciated by experts.

Director Christopher McQuarrie and his crew did not waste much time telling stories but went straight to the action part, which is the point that the Mission: Impossible brand does better and better.

The action scene in “Mission: Impossible 7” is extremely skillfully staged. The film has spectacular and new angles such as the fight scene in a narrow alley, or the idea of chasing a car while driving with one hand, to the smooth fight choreography whether it is hand-to-hand combat or weapon fighting.
