House tied the knot “big easy” style

The 34-year-old lefty, known for his time with the Toronto Blue Jays, made history in 2022 when he became one of the few openly gay ex-MLB players.

Now, he’s made history once again, becoming the third former MLB player come out after leaving the majors.

House & Neitzel’s wedding festivities were nothing short of spectacular, with the grooms leading their guests on a spirited march through the streets of the Big Easy, accompanied by a lively jazz band.

As House and Neitzel walked arm in arm at the front of the parade, they held parasols aloft, creating a memorable image for their special day.

In addition to the march, the wedding reception featured hand-rolled cigars and tarot readings, adding to the unique charm of the celebration.

Just days after the event, House took to Instagram to share photos from their big day, accompanied by a heartfelt caption, channeling his baseball-inspired romantic sentiments of the 90s movie ‘It Takes Two’“It’s that can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, World Series kind of love,”

TJ House came out in 2022 after his retirement

House’s journey to this moment has been marked by bravery and resilience.

In 2022, he publicly came out as gay, becoming a beacon of hope for LGBTQ athletes everywhere.

His engagement to Neitzel was announced alongside his gratitude for the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act, which gave them the opportunity to legally wed and create something beautiful together.

Their love story has garnered national attention, with House and Neitzel even making a public appearance at The White House to commemorate the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act.

Following his retirement from baseball, House has transitioned to a new career as a realtor in the Cleveland area, where he once pitched out of the bullpen.

But now, he’s embarking on a new chapter of his life, hand in hand with his life partner, Ryan Neitzel.
