‘Pop Culture Jeopardy!’ Makes Huge Editing Mistake In Week 2
Both Jeopardy! and Pop Culture Jeopardy! are pre-taped and air much later than their filming dates. Despite this, mistakes still slip through, even though the network surely has quality control people who watch the episodes before scheduling them to air. With that said, the mistake from this week’s Pop Culture episode was jarring and was a bad look for the franchise.
Here is what went wrong on the second week’s drops for the Jeopardy! spinoff series on Prime Video.
Pop Culture Jeopardy! Has Terrible Editing Mistake In Fourth Episode
The release schedule for Pop Culture Jeopardy! differs from the main show. While the main show is on network television and airs daily, this new spinoff is on Prime Video. Since this is streaming, Prime drops three episodes each week on Wednesday, and fans can watch at their own leisure.

This week saw the second batch of episodes hit Prime Video. However, fans who went to watch them ended up thrown for a loop in the first of the new episodes this week. The fourth overall episode from Season 1 had the team “It’s a She Thing” land on the Daily Double.
The Daily Double was in the “On SNL‘s Celebrity Jeopardy!” category. They were asked what they wanted to wager and chose to go in with 1,000 points. However, the episode had an editing glitch, and viewers didn’t get to see them answer the question.
Instead, it cut directly to the “South Shore Squad” team getting a Daily Double question. Colin Jost asked them an unrelated question: “The White Stripes, Miley Cyrus & Now Beyonce Have Covered This 1973 Song About a Woman ‘With Flaming Locks of Auburn Hair.” This had nothing to do with SNL.
After this, the wrong team answered the wrong Daily Double, and Colin read a clue that didn’t match the clue on the screen. At this moment, the audio cut out, and “South Shore Squad” celebrated something.
Pop Culture Jeopardy! Returned Like Nothing Happened
The show then cut back to the “It’s a She Thing” team and they saw the clue: “She ‘Transformed’ This Simple Game Show Podium Into A Rich Cornucopia of Winter Flora…I really Treasure it.”

The team answered, “Who is Martha Stewart?,” and that was the correct answer. This led many fans onto Reddit to discuss the confusion and editing error:
“There is a problem with Episode 4, it’s during the Daily Double in the first round. It’s totally the wrong question being read, the wrong team being answered, it’s all messed up.”
“It’s a really odd edit, but at least it goes back to the correct thing.”
“I can’t believe they let that one slide. That’s a pretty glaring mistake.”
