The New York native is the host on three programs across the Fox Network: Your World with Neil Cavuto, Cavuto Live – both on Fox News – and Cavuto: Coast to Coast on the sister channel Fox Business Network.
For almost a month, all of Cavuto’s programs have been guest-hosted by Fox correspondents Charles Payne, Ashley Webster, Edward Lawrence, David Asman, Sandra Smith or Jackie DeAngelis.
Cavuto is one of the network’s most popular hosts with over 50,000 followers on Twitter.
Even in his absence, Cavuto’s official Twitter account has continued to announce guest hosts and update his show’s latest episodes.
Despite his busy schedule due to his popularity, the anchor has struggled with health problems for most of his career and regularly deals with the pain while filming.
At the beginning of his career in 1987, Cavuto was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma — a type of cancer that attacks the body’s immune system.
He received radiation and chemotherapy, but ten years later, the television personality began experiencing worrying symptoms again.
“I was stumbling and falling,” the published author told People in 2002.
“I would wake up prickly. My legs felt like stilts.”
But those symptoms turned out to be caused by another condition entirely — Cavuto was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a degenerative neurological disease.
“When it’s really bad, my shoulders can’t move, my head is spinning, I can’t feel my arms or my legs,” Cavuto said, according to Health.com.
But the host is determined to keep moving forward and being the best he can at his job.
“I’m not a cause and I’m not a statement,” Cavuto has said. “I want to be judged on what I do, not the disease I have.”
“It sucks, but life doesn’t suck,” he said.
FAN CONCERN
Since his recent absence from the Fox Network, Cavuto’s fans have voiced their concerns over the anchor’s status.
One fan tweeted: “where is @TeamCavuto Neil Cavuto? Is he OK?”
Another viewer tweeted at guest host Payne, saying: “@cvpayne Mr. Payne I enjoy your programs very much. I also enjoy Neil Cavuto, why is he not on his show at 4:00pm? Hope he is alright.”
A third viewer wrote: “@TeamCavuto Is Neil Cavuto ok? Where is he? We miss him!”
Meanwhile, another fan was concerned whether the Fox News hosts had contacted Covid again, saying: “Just curious…..where has Neil Cavuto been? Is it Covid again?”
Cavuto had been diagnosed with Covid last October, which caused him to miss several of his shows.
“While I’m somewhat stunned by this news, doctors tell me I’m lucky as well,” Cavuto said in a statement shared by Fox News Media.
“Had I not been vaccinated, and with all my medical issues, this would be a far more dire situation. It’s not, because I did and I’m surviving this because I did.”
Fox News declined to comment when previously approached by The US Sun concerning Cavuto’s status.
