BREAKING NEWS : Jeopardy! Fans Baffled by Mysterious Change—It Took Days to Spot

This week, Jeopardy! fans took to the internet to discuss a subtle cosmetic change that took them days to figure out, according to multiple Reddit posts

Nothing gets past the Jeopardy! audience.

Die hard fans and daily viewers of America’s favorite quiz show are eagle-eyed when it comes to any change, no matter how slight or subtle. While Jeopardy! has been on the air since the 1960s, the daily syndicated version of the game show has been on the air since 1984, with gameplay remaining mostly the same. In October, the show debuted an updated set, which included a new game board.

This week fans took to the internet to discuss a subtle cosmetic change that took them days to figure out, according to multiple Reddit posts.

In a post on Reddit, one user posted screenshots with the caption: “When I was watching this week, I thought something looked different & then I realized a few days later what it was.” It turns out there has been a slight change in the text size of the dollar amount displayed player’s podiums – a subtle difference that is practically invisible to the untrained eye.

One particularly detail-oriented fan explained the difference: “it seems that the monitors on the front of the podiums were replaced; and that the image is a little brighter, and the placement and size of the image is very slightly different on the new screens. The dollar values are not specifically larger, though. It’s just the entire image”

While many didn’t notice, others felt like something was off, but could not quite put their finger on what exactly was different about the set. The same user explained: “It’s a testament to how our brains get used to tiny details that this very minor change caused so many people to feel something was different.”

Fans were relieved to finally have an answer to their suspicions, with one commenting: “Thank you Reddit for making me feel a little less crazy. I thought things looked off today,” while another wrote: “YES. I knew something was different but I couldn’t figure it out until this post.”
