How ‘Jeopardy!’ Hunk Drew Goins Really Feels About the Internet’s Thirst Over Him

Drew Goins has taken the Jeopardy! world and the internet by storm. The 30-year-old has returned for the Second Chance tournament — and so has the swooning. Goins spoke with Swooon about becoming the internet’s Jeopardy! boyfriend (check out his “I’ll take being cute for $200 shirt” below) and the online thirst for him.

“It felt very silly. I was blushing the entire time,” he admitted. “It was certainly better than becoming Jeopardy!‘s enemy. I think I felt that if I could not win, then at least I went on there and lost with style. I was very bashful, but it was very funny. People have been very, very nice and lovely online.”

He made waves after missing a Taylor Swift question during his first run on the show, but Jeopardy! fans have had a lot more to say about his choice of wardrobe, notably the turtleneck he wore in the first round of the Second Chance tournament. One fan on Reddit could see “nothing but Drew’s nipples nearly every time he is on screen,” to which Goins replied, “I promise the next outfit is better insulated!”

Goins told Swooon, “The wardrobe malfunction, as some outlets have been calling it; I promise that a certain body part or two of mine was less prominent when I put that turtleneck on at the beginning. I’ve put photographic evidence on my Instagram of that.”

The Jeopardy! favorite wanted to “do a very different look for Second Chance.” After his shirt and tie moment the first time around, he aimed to have his “little Steve Jobs moment.”

He continued, “Let me do something with a little more padding to it, too, after people commented on the tightness of the shirt. And then, it turns out that the fabric was too thin anyway, and we ended up at #nipplegate in the turtleneck.”

If Jeopardy! ever did an edition of thirst tweets, Goins would likely be their first call. “My response to that is what someone on Reddit said after people were getting very thirsty,” he noted. “Someone under that said, ‘I’m thirsty for his brain!’ And that is what I would love people to thirsty for.”
