After the Bills handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season with a 30-21 victory in Orchard Park on Sunday, one of the Bills’ wives took to social media to express her frustration with the ongoing media attention surrounding Swift and Kelce.
Riley, the wife of Bills linebacker Balein Spectre, shared a post on Instagram referencing Buffalo’s impressive win and their solid record against the Chiefs. Riley, along with Ryan Bas (wife of Bills kicker Tyler Bass), Brianna Pomo (wife of tight end Dalton Knox), and former NFL punter Rick Tutton, posed in a photo celebrating the win, with all smiles as the Bills improved to 4-4 against Kansas City in the Josh Allen era.
However, not all reactions were positive. Riley’s post, which subtly referenced her lack of interest in Taylor Swift’s fanbase (or “Swifty” culture), quickly sparked criticism. One fan accused Riley of low-class behavior, saying, “If it wasn’t for low class, she would have no class.” Another fan called out her jealousy, while others criticized her for being “never classy.” Some fans went as far as saying that Riley and her friends were “irrelevant” and that no one cared whether they attended a Bills game.
Despite the backlash, not everyone in Buffalo shared this anti-Swift sentiment. McKenna Allen, the sister of Bills quarterback Josh Allen, posted on Instagram from Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in Toronto, just across the New York-Ontario border. McKenna wore a sparkling silver mini dress and boots while attending the concert with friends, later sharing that it was the “best night” she’d ever had.
Swift herself did not attend Sunday’s game in Orchard Park, which is just over a two-hour drive from Toronto. This might have worked out in her favor, considering the Bills’ victory over the Chiefs, which was sealed with a last-minute interception by Bills linebacker Terrell Bernard. Despite the win, the Chiefs still lead in postseason matchups, having won three straight meetings dating back to 2020. If they meet again in January, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Chiefs come out on top once more.
The ongoing tension between Swift’s relationship with Kelce and the Bills’ players and their families has become a headline story, especially as the NFL season progresses. It seems the rivalry between the Bills and the Chiefs is intensifying, both on and off the field.
