On Tuesday’s Today Third Hour, Jill, 47, joined the hosts for a segment called She Made It.
The segment features women who persevere against the odds, by bringing about change to others through their business or career.
Jill typically leads the segment and sits down to interview women.
After the interview was over, Jill sat with Craig, 44, Al Roker, and Dylan Dreyer.
When Jill finished talking about the woman she featured today, Craig made a comment that got Jill emotional.
“That was your first She Made It since you wrapped up your treatment,” he said.
“It was,” Jill smiled. “I’m back, baby.”
The hosts and crew clapped as Jill began to cry.
She put her head down and sniffled as Dylan, 42, rubbed her back.
“No crying. We’ve got you,” she said.

TODAY’S TRAGEDY
Jill revealed her cancer diagnosis on air in July 2023.
In an interview with co-stars Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, she said that she has breast cancer.
Jill brought her doctor on set to talk more about her diagnosis and the steps she took up until that point.
“This feels like an out-of-body experience,” Jill said after Hoda asked her to share her news with viewers.
“I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. And it feels like someone else telling this story. Six weeks ago, it happened really fast,” she said, getting choked up.
Jill’s mammogram was clear in January, but a doctor still told her to get breast cancer (BRCA) genetic testing done, due to her family’s history with the disease.
“I got the test, and it came back positive,” she said.
“I was planning on getting the preventative surgery. That was my choice.”
When Jill went in to get scans done ahead of her surgery, the doctors discovered the cancer.
She broke down in tears as she shared that her grandmother died of breast cancer and her mother had a double mastectomy, but is healthy now.
“What I’m most sad about is watching my parents watch me go through this,” Jill admitted through tears.
“Jill, can we just say, we love you very much. We cannot wait to see you on the other side of this,” Hoda said.
“You are full of optimism and hope, I know you’re scared, but you know that you have a family here waiting for you to come back with open arms.”
“I feel devastated and sad and scared, but I feel empowered and strong,” Jill ended the segment.
JILL’S RECOVERY
Since being diagnosed, Jill has undergone multiple surgeries.
Mostly recently, the lifestyle contributor shared that she was getting a bone density scan.
She also got her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.

Jill also had a lump removed from her breast and underwent reconstruction surgery.
The Today host received radiation and is on the road to recovery.
