“He’s really not a villain”: Dwayne Johnson Has the Opportunity to Bring Mike Tyson’s Favorite Marvel Villain Back to Life

“He’s really not a villain”: Dwayne Johnson Has the Opportunity to Bring Mike Tyson’s Favorite Marvel Villain Back to Life

Apart from trying his hand at wrestling and business and magnificently succeeding, Dwayne Johnson has garnered impressive success as an actor too.

Besides being the leading man in the fan-favorite Jumanji reboot saga and a part of the Fast and Furious film series, he has also notably tried his acting chops in the superhero genre as well, playing Black Adam in the DCEU.

But The Rock is not done yet, because the latest exclusive reports are claiming he just might end up becoming a part of the MCU pretty soon as well. Plus, the role he is rumored for is that of En Sabah Nur, which Mike Tyson considers to be the ‘best hero’ from the entire MCU lore.

That said, Johnson could actually bring Tyson’s favorite MCU character back to life if these reports are true!

Mike Tyson Considers This Villain His ‘Best Hero’ From MCU
American professional boxer Mike Tyson, who will soon be returning to the ring after nearly two decades since his retirement in 2005, is actually in incredible awe of one villain from the Marvel Comics Universe (MCU): Apocalypse aka En Sabah Nur from the X-Men saga.

During his meeting with the late legend Stan Lee, who reportedly used to send comics from the MCU to Tyson during the time he was in prison because he knew his love for this one villain, the fan-favorite 57-year-old boxer expressed the same.

In an old clip that resurfaced after being shared by @comicsandcaviar on Instagram, Tyson can be heard presenting his own view of the character, saying:

Who created Apocalypse? That’s my best hero. He’s really not a villain. This is the word he says, ‘I am not malevolent. I just am!’ Right?

Not only that, but Mike Tyson also shared how much he has been in awe of the villain while revealing how he has been “watching Marvel’s comics all my life,” saying:

The first time I’ve seen [En Sabah Nur] must have been when you had the X-Men series, the Phoenix Saga. And [he] came out and said, oh man, it blew my mind, a guy like that. So arrogant, so profound, but so articulate, you know?
As can be understood from his words, this particular mutant villain from the X-Men universe has played such an indelible charm on Tyson that he can even seemingly gush on and on in awe of him, all day long.

That said, this character could be brought back to life by Dwayne Johnson, as per recent reports.

Dwayne Johnson Could Bring Mike Tyson’s Favorite ‘Hero’ Back to Life

As fans already know, this mutant nemesis has already previously made its way into live-action through 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, embodied truly impeccably by Oscar Isaac (although his physical appearance didn’t quite fit fans’ expectations).

Since then, he wasn’t quite approached for live-action.

That was until reports started claiming that, in the X-Men reboot reportedly taking place in the MCU, En Sabah Nur would be returning as well. Moreover, according to @MyTimeToShineH on X, the person singled out for this role is reportedly The Rock (via @update_marvel/X).

Not only that but according to the latest exclusive reports from Variety, Johnson’s production company has signed a multi-year agreement deal with Disney, allowing them the opportunity to collaborate across all Disney divisions, which includes Marvel Studios as well.

That being said, after the DCEU, The People’s Champ joining hands with the MCU has become even more likely than ever before, and so has the chance of him becoming the next En Sabah Nur and bringing Tyson’s ‘best hero’ from the MCU back to life.

Until then, fans can stream X-Men: Apocalypse on Disney+.
