The Los Angeles Dodgers players aren’t the only ones who make terrific catches on the field.

Most of the time, the focus when it comes to the Los Angeles Dodgers is on what the actual players are doing. Shohei Ohtani is making Dodgers history in his first year with the team and the Dodgers have been in a large division lead despite some injury issues, with a healthy 8.5 lead at the end of June.

Fans are sometimes treated to the rare instance where a fan or a coach or a team employee does something that becomes the talk of the game, but most of the time, those incidents are not flattering to those involved, but can often be very entertaining to those fortunate enough to witness it.

In this case, however, one Dodgers bat boy made waves for the best possible reason on Wednesday, as his lightning-fast reflexes on a foul ball towards the Dodgers dugout may have saved Shohei Ohtani from serious injury.

A foul ball on an excuse-me swing from Enrique Hernández was headed straight for the Dodgers’ dugout and, more specifically, right at the Dodgers’ $700 million man.

If that ball got into the dugout, Ohtani’s only hope would’ve been to dive out of the way in time, but insert the Bat Boy to the rescue.

This bat boy didn’t even blink when the ball headed right over his shoulder. With two bare hands, he snatched that ball out of the air and made the play.

What does the kid do after that? He gave a cool nod while handing the ball to a fan and goes about his business like nothing happened.
