Jason Kelce has revealed that Taylor Swift generously offered to help out with any friends seeking tickets to her Eras Tour, but the retired NFL star quickly declined the offer, insisting he didn’t want to impose or create any awkward dynamics.
Kelce, who retired from the NFL this past summer, appeared on the Rich Eisen Show and reflected on what has been a whirlwind couple of years for both him and his family. Along with his brother Travis Kelce’s rise to fame, Jason also spoke fondly of Swift and their growing friendship. However, despite Swift’s offer to handle ticket requests, Jason made it clear he would not take advantage of it.
“You know, thankfully I don’t get a lot of people reaching out for Taylor Swift tickets,” Jason said, adding, “It’s an immediate no.” He explained that while Swift had offered to take care of any requests, he didn’t want to create any uncomfortable situations by asking for favors. “She’s been nothing but lovely to our family,” Jason noted, praising the pop star, but adding that he preferred to avoid any potential tension that could come with relying on her generosity.
Kelce elaborated, saying, “I don’t want to be the one to impose on that. I’m not going to put that position out there.” Despite Taylor’s kindness, Jason reiterated his stance: “She’s great, but I still say no to everybody.”
The 37-year-old NFL legend said that he felt it was important to maintain healthy boundaries, even when it came to a superstar like Swift, and added that it’s easier for him to simply stay away from the line of asking for favors. “Once, twice—where’s the line?” Kelce remarked, reinforcing his decision to respectfully decline the offer.
Swift’s offer to Jason came at a time when her relationship with Travis Kelce, Jason’s brother, has garnered significant media attention. However, Jason has made it clear that, while he has no issue with Taylor or her generosity, he values his family’s privacy and maintaining a sense of normalcy amid the public spotlight.
