Taylor Swift drops new version of her hit song for NBC Olympics promo… amid speculation the singer may attend the Games in Paris

Taylor Swift has joined the chorus of A-list celebrities throwing their support behind Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

One day after Beyonce appeared in a rousing hype video during NBC’s broadcast of the opening ceremony, the network tapped Swift to provide the soundtrack for another promo.

‘So ready to scream at my tv cheering for these athletes,’ the songstress captioned a post on her Instagram Story over the weekend.

It was accompanied by an emotional video featuring stars like LeBron James, Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson while her hit song, Ready For It, played in the background.

However, the promo featured a live version of Swift performing the track from her Reputation album, which was recorded during her Eras Tour in 2023.

Of course, Swift’s pal Simone Biles appeared in the clip.

‘Are you guys ready for it?’ she asked at the end of the video.

It comes amid speculation that the 14-time Grammy winner could make a pit stop in Paris while on the European leg of her Eras Tour this month.

She has several days off over the next two weeks, including August 11, when the Closing Ceremony is set to take place.

Swift has close ties to Team USA, particularly the women’s gymnastics team and Biles.

She paid tribute to the decorated gymnast in 2021 after she withdrew from several events at the Tokyo Olympics.

In response, Biles wrote on social media, ‘I’m crying, how special. I love you @taylorswift13.’

Swift replied, ‘I cried watching YOU. I feel so lucky to have gotten to watch you all these years, but this week was a lesson in emotional intelligence and resilience. We all learned from you. Thank you.’

The Love Story songstress also hyped up Biles’ teammates Suni Lee and Jade Carey after they were forced to step up in the wake of Biles’ mental health struggles.

Swift’s history with the Games dates all the way back to 2008 when NBC invited her to perform at the Olympics in Beijing, China.

Although her Fearless Tour schedule interfered with the event, her song Change was prominently featured in promo videos.

‘I wrote the song ‘Change’ as an underdog story. It’s kind of crazy to think that the Olympics chose this as one of the songs to play during the Olympic Games,’ Swift told The Boot at the time.
