The Celtics’ superstar was carried from the floor in the fourth quarter, with New York now leading the Eastern Conference semifinals series 3-1
Brunson leads Knicks to Game 4 win over Celtics
Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby combined to score 105 points as the Knicks beat the Celtics 121-113 at home in Game 4 to grab a 3-1 series lead.
But the fallout will be dominated by an injury to Boston superstar Jayson Tatum in the final period. Tatum was carried from the floor after a non-contact injury seemingly sustained to his lower right leg.
New York trailed by 15 in the first half but played a strong third quarter to lead Boston by three points entering the fourth. From there, the stars dueled it out as Brunson and Tatum went bucket-for-bucket. Ultimately New York pulled away down the stretch.
Mikal Bridges came up huge for the Knicks, consistently sinking mid-range jumpers to maintain New York’s cushion. Tatum was special, dropping 42 points on 16-of-28 shooting including 7-of-15 from deep — before he was forced to leave the floor.
Game 5 is set for Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET in Boston.
