Charlie Puth is buzzing about the “Attention” he’s received from Taylor Swift.

On Sunday, April 28, Puth, 32, reposted the singer’s post about her “overwhelmed” reaction to the success of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, on which she mentions Puth.

On TTPD, the pop superstar, 34, name-checks the musician in the title track — singing that she and a former lover “declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.”

Puth reposted the sixth slide in Swift’s carousel post of behind-the-scenes photos she had shared of her making the album along with her reaction. The image showed Swift sitting indoors in a recording booth with headphones over her ears printed on a disc.

Written in black marker to the side was, “The Tortured Poets Department” — referring to the title track in which Puth is mentioned.

On the track, which dropped on Friday, April 19, when Swift’s 11th studio album arrived, the hitmaker teases a former flame about his love for vintage typewriters and likening himself to legendary poets.

“You smokеd, then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” she sings on the track, making a reference to the “See You Again” singer.

The 14-time Grammy winner also name-drops the legendary late poet Dylan Thomas and iconic musician/writer Patti Smith on “The Tortured Poets Department.”

A handful of other artists, such as Stevie Nicks, and several of Swift’s famous friends are also alluded to in the lyrics.

It’s not the first time Swift and Puth have interacted with one another. While the two pop stars have yet to collaborate, Puth has been outspoken over the years about the appreciation that he has for the Midnights artist.

The Grammy-nominated musician has even covered Swift at his concerts. At a 2021 cover in which he played her breakout song “Teardrops on My Guitar,” he said, “This is why she’s such a genius, man. These are the chord changes. It’s wonderful. I think it’s wonderful.”

The two stars also had a sweet interaction on TikTok when the “Cruel Summer” singer joined the platform in 2021. After Puth welcomed his “fellow Sag,” she replied, “I’ve lurked your account for ages! Thanks for the welcome, piano prince 👑.”

The 1975 frontman Matty Healy — Swift’s ex who fans have speculated much of The Tortured Poets Department is about — has also shared his love for Puth in the past.

In 2018, the rock star, 35, posted, “That Charlie Puth and Boyz II Men track is harrrrrd,” on his now-defunct X (formerly Twitter) account. Puth himself saw Healy’s kind words and replied, “Thank u matty!” which fans have since taken screengrabs of.

On Sunday, April 28, Swift shared her reaction to the success of The Tortured Poets Department, writing in a message on Instagram, “My mind is blown. I’m completely floored by the love you’ve shown this album.”
