In the quarterback market, the next big contract extension is to be landed by the Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott. However, whether it will actually take place or not is another question. Interestingly, not many agree that the quarterback deserves a contract as lucrative as the $60 million annually he is rumored to receive.

Ever since the Cowboys’ embarrassing loss to the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers in the first game of the playoffs, Prescott has come under intense scrutiny over his inability to end the Cowboys’ agonizing Super Bowl drought of 28 years. Throughout the offseason, Prescott had to endure criticism for having one of the worst playoff records for a quarterback who has started at least five games.

However, Prescott’s 2-5 playoff record couldn’t stop his sympathizer Cam Newton from comparing him with the elite quarterback Patrick Mahomes with a postseason record of 15-3. In the recent episode of the , Newton came in the defense of the Cowboys’ quarterback by drawing an odd comparison with the reigning Super Bowl MVP.

.

He argued that, based on stats, the three-time Super Bowl champion is quite similar to Prescott. In the last 50 games that Prescott has started, he logged a 33-17 record with 105 touchdowns and 38 interceptions, whereas the Kansas City Chiefs superstar recorded a 36-14 record with 105 touchdowns and 39 interceptions.
