1923 Stars Brandon Sklenar and Taylor Sheridan Reunite for an Explosive Action Blockbuster! Get Ready for Heart-Pounding Thrills and Unforgettable Cinematic Moments in Their Latest Collaboration That Promises to Redefine Action Movies!
The Sheridan-penned F.A.S.T. will hit theaters in 2027.

The Yellowstone prequel 1923 may be over, but star Brandon Sklenar isn’t quite finished working with show creator Taylor Sheridan yet. Today, it was announced that the actor, who appeared on the series as the enigmatic soldier-turned-heartthrob Spencer Dutton, has joined the Sheridan-penned action thriller F.A.S.T.
Per Deadline, the film will center on a former special forces commando, presumably played by Sklenar, who leads a black ops strike team for the DEA against a group of drug dealers who are under the protection of the CIA. Ben Richardson, who served as a director on 1923, will make his film directorial debut with the movie, which will hit theaters on April 23, 2027.
Sheridan is no stranger to writing for film, with other including the similarly-themed Sicario as well as Hell or High Water, for which the writer was nominated for a Best Original Screenplay Oscar. However, unlike his recent work, which has fallen under an overall deal Sheridan has with Paramount, F.A.S.T. is being made by Warner Bros. who commissioned him to write the screenplay prior to his Paramount deal. Sheridan himself, along with Jenny Wood of the Sheridan-owned Bosque Ranch Productions, are reportedly in negotiations to produce.
“The breadth of Taylor Sheridan’s body of work is simply astounding and unparalleled in sheer excellence and consistent quality and we could not be more honored to be making this film with him,” Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group’s co-chairs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy said in a statement when the film was announced.
The movie is just the latest in Sheridan’s ever-increasingly slate of projects. Earlier this week it was revealed that the Beth and Rip-focused Yellowstone sequel Dutton Ranch will be debuting in November, with the Luke Grimes-starring Kayce Dutton spinoff Y: Marshals coming to CBS in early 2026, and the next Dutton prequel 1944 airing later that same year.
