FANS are still waiting for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse to be released.
The hotly-anticipated movie was set to swing into cinemas in March 2024 but has been delayed. Here’s the latest news on the Sony movie.

Fans are waiting for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse
There has been a lot of speculation about when Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released.
The threequel was slated to hit theatres in 2024.
However, according to reports on December 16, 2024, Sony has no plans to release Beyond the Spider-Verse in 2025.
The report in Deadline claims the studio is “taking a lot of tender loving care” when it comes to concluding Miles Morales’ story as Spider-Man.
Released date speculation
It had previously been claimed that fans might even have to wait until 2027 before the film is released.
However, this report was rubbished by composer Daniel Pemberton, who said: “Don’t really ever want to weigh in on this sort of stuff BUT would you ever believe there could sometimes be stuff on the internet that might not always be particularly accurate?”
Meanwhile, Karan Soni, who voices Pavitr Prabhakar, aka Spider-Man India, told The Times of India in August 2024 that recording starts “in a few months”.
“That movie is deep in production. It’s animation, so it’s different and takes a long time. We’ll see when it’s ready and when it ends up coming out, but I’m really excited,” he added.
Star cast
The cast for Beyond the Spider-Verse has yet to be confirmed.
However, it is more than likely that Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will return as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy.

It’s also reported that will be joined by Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099), Issa Rae as Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman) and Daniel Kaluuya as Hobie Brown (Spider-Punk).
However. Jake Johnson, who plays Peter B Parker, revealed in January 2024 that he wasn’t sure if he is back for the next movie.
“I love Peter B Parker. I will say this, I would be so sad if I got a call that Peter B Parker is not returning to the Spider-Verse, because I feel really attached to that character,” he said.

Plot for Beyond the Spider-Verse
Sony are yet to reveal an official plot synopsis for Beyond the Spider-Verse.
However, Across the Spider-Verse’s ending set up the storyline for the new movie.
Miles is stuck in Earth-42 and is at the mercy of that universe’s Miles Morales, who is the Prowler.
There is no Spider-Man in this universe, as the spider that bit Miles was transported to his universe (Earth-1610) by The Spot.
However, all is not lost for Miles as Gwen now has her own Spidey team and they are trying to rescue him.
But they need to work out where he is first.
