The chaotic brawl cleans the benches of both teams

Wild brawl between two High School girls' basketball teams knocks them out of playoffs

During a state high school girls’ basketball tournament in Georgia, a wild and chaotic brawl broke out between Spalding High School and Wayne County High School as they faced off in a playoff game.

It is not known what started the action, but there was a lot of hair pulling and punching that was captured on video. The only thing that is certain after the brawl is that both teams will not advance to the next round.

The brawl occurred at the end of the second quarter and ended the game. In the midst of the chaos, fights between several players at the same time spread throughout the court and as a result all the players from both teams were expelled from the game.

The rule states that ejected players must also sit out the next game so it made it impossible for either team to advance to the next round.

After the fight, both teams achieved an historical record

The wild brawl between these two teams is a historic event, as it was the first double loss in state tournament history, dating back to 1922. There is an ongoing investigation into the brawl that could result in more sanctions and additional punishments.

In a statement, Georgia High School Association executive director Dr. Robin Hines said, “There is no place within the Georgia High School Association for this type of behavior. It was egregious and we will not tolerate things like this.”

Although both teams were sent off and will not be able to advance to the next round, at least they made history, albeit in a negative way, which will remain for posterity until something happens to break this record. Can something like this happen again?
