Why fans of Wheel of Fortune are slamming Ryan Seacrest’s hosting abilities

Wheel of Fortune fans are not happy with Ryan Seacrest after fans believe that the host should have offered a contestant more advice.

Ryan Seacrest, who replaced Pat Sajak for the current series, is facing fan criticism over his hosting abilities, after a contestant’s puzzling defeat during a recent episode.

In the November 26 show, contestant Oleh Voloshyn lost the game by a mere $176 after solving a puzzle that could have netted him more money.

Some fans argue Seacrest, whose reading abilities were recently questioned, failed to provide crucial guidance that might have helped Voloshyn win.

During the final round, the wheel landed on $5,000, with each consonant worth $6,000

Voloshyn solved the puzzle as TOURING A WINERY without first guessing additional consonants, ultimately losing to his opponent.

Fans took to Social media to voice their frustration over the incident.

“If I’m Oleh, I’m upset at myself for not realizing the situation… I’m also angry at Ryan for not doing something that Pat always made a point to do in this exact situation. It’s not the host’s job to point those types of things out but Pat [Sajak] always tried so now we expect it,” one Reddit user wrote.

“Pat would have reminded him to guess a letter before solving,” another added.

The incident follows Seacrest calling out a difficult bonus round puzzle on the show that left a contestant stumped.

On the Monday, November 18 episode, Seacrest said the puzzle Joey Sweet was tasked with was “tough” after he was unable to solve it and lost out on the $40,000 bonus round prize.

It was a change in tack for the presenter who normally remains impartial and does not comment about the difficulty of puzzles on the ABC show.
