A lot is at stake for Ryan Seacrest at Wheel of Fortune.
The new host, who replaced Pat Sajak in September of 2024, hasn’t had the easiest time transitioning on the ABC game show. Many fans have begged the retired personality to come out of retirement after seeing Seacrest’s “awkward” on-air stage habits.
Despite the backlash, ratings have soared since the season’s premiere and now the network is offering the host a pay increase, on one condition.
An insider told Radar Online that everyone at Wheel of Fortune knows Seacrest has brought something new to the almost 50-year old show.
“Ryan and his team are playing it cool and not gloating but there’s no question he has electrified the Wheel franchise and brought in new fans with his cheerful, high-energy presentation of the game,” the source said.

Considering the increase in viewership, his contract is being negotiated.
“That success is going to translate into a longer-term deal than his current two-year contract and we’re talking BIG,” they revealed. “Ryan could be the first game show host to make $50million a year!”
His potential salary is almost double his current one that stands at $28 million a year. Sajak never made more than a $15 million salary on the show.
While the new amount is very enticing, it comes with inconvenient circumstances.
The insider confessed: “The only way a $50million payday is possible is if Ryan scales back his other full-time gigs and makes a more exclusive commitment to the franchise.”
