Travis Kelce just can’t seem to shake Taylor Swift off his mind these days – even when he’s discussing football.

Kelce, whose whirlwind romance with Swift has gone from strength to strength over the past six months, couldn’t resist a nod to his pop-megastar girlfriend while assessing Kenny Pickett and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ acrimonious split this week.

On the latest episode of his and brother Jason’s New Heights podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end touched on the rumored ill-feeling between Pickett and Pittsburgh as they went their separate ways.

‘Kenny and the Steelers, their relationship ended in a little “baaaad blood”,’ he sang in the tone of Swift’s hit song from her Grammy-winning 1989 album. ‘Because Kenny is saying he preferred to move on.’

After his 1989 reference, Swift’s legion of fans were sent into a frenzy on social media, with one writing: ‘Travis kelce never beating the biggest 1989 stan allegations!’

Another put: ‘Travis Kelce proving once again he’s a 1989 stan belting out Bad Blood on @newheightshow’.

The Steelers traded Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles last week for a third-round pick and two future seventh-rounders, with the quarterback forced to make way after the arrival of Russell Wilson.

Pickett is said to have been frustrated after learning of Wilson’s move to Pittsburgh, which he reportedly discovered on social media, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

However, Eagles legend Jason – who announced his retirement earlier this month – believes a fresh start in Philadelphia could be just what the doctor ordered this year.

‘Sometimes it’s the fit, the system… whatever it is he gets to have a fresh start now and come over to Philadelphia,’ he said about Pickett. ‘Obviously he’ll be behind Jalen Hurts and have an opportunity to learn and grow and play with some really good players.

‘Hopefully this is a better fit for Kenny and he can really maximize his potential in Philadelphia now.’

Travis revealed he was up at the crack of dawn to squeeze in the latest recording of New Heights with Jason amid his romantic offseason plans with Swift.

The Chiefs star and his girlfriend have been enjoying some downtime ever since she finished the latest leg of her Eras Tour in Singapore earlier this month.

After Kansas City’s Super Bowl win last month, Kelce had flown out to Singapore and Australia to watch the songstress perform before the couple nestled down at her $25million home in Los Angeles.

However, Swifties believe they jetted off to a romantic getaway in the Caribbean on Sunday.

And it appears the three-time Super Bowl winner had to rearrange his recording schedule with Jason to accommodate his and Swift’s plans for quality time together.

‘Just to be forewarned, this episode – the first half – is actually being recorded Saturday before this comes out so we’re going to be behind on some free agency moves coming up,’ Jason explained during Wednesday’s episode.

‘Saturday morning to be exact,’ he added. ‘We are 9am ET and Trav’s 6am over there on the West Coast.’

‘Early risers baby! Early bird gets the word,’ Travis chimed in with the early morning clearly leaving him a bit drowsy as he tripped over his words in the idiom.

‘We’re just jacked up on accelerators. But we made it. We’re here and we’re doing this f***ing podcast.’
