NFL star Travis Kelce has raised eyebrows by questioning the legitimacy of the upcoming Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, slated for November 15.

The bout which pits YouTuber Paul against boxing icon Tyson, is set to be a lucrative Netflix-broadcast spectacle taking place at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. The controversial fight, seen by some as a mismatch, been a hot topic, especially after Tyson experienced dizziness and nausea on a flight, resulting in the initial fight’s postponement.

Yet Taylor Swift’s beau Kelce, has thrown his two cents into the debate, betting on Paul, also known as ‘the Cleveland kid’, courtesy of World Boxing News. “I’m taking the Cleveland kid [Paul], even though Mike is [the Baddest Man on the Planet].

“Golly, I feel silly saying that, but I will take Jake with the youth. I don’t know about the knockout. Are they allowed to knock each other out? I don’t know about a knockout, man. I’ve never seen Mike get knocked out.”

Tyson, a former two-time heavyweight world champion, ended his career with an impressive record of 50 victories, 44 of them by knockout, and six losses, including defeats by James Douglas, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Danny Williams, and Kevin McBride.

While Tyson was famed for his extraordinary power inside the ring, age has inevitably eroded the speed and strength he was celebrated for as he gears up to make a return to the ring later in the year.

He has recently opened up about the toll training takes on his body, confessing that it’s “hard to walk” post-training, and that he must pass a medical before his bout with Paul. Boxing pundit Malignaggi has sounded the alarm for Tyson and Paul, articulating fears that a severe punch from Paul could wreak havoc on the icon, potentially triggering a crisis for boxing.

Malignaggi cautioned: “Head blows from young, strong guys at Mike’s age aren’t good,” elaborating on the heightened risks that older fighters face when taking hits compared to their younger counterparts. He warned of the catastrophic consequences that could follow: “If something like that happened, people would be calling for the sport to be banned.

“Personally, I don’t think his fight with Jake Paul should happen. You can show highlights of Mike from the ’80s, but the guy stepping into the ring won’t be that same Mike Tyson.”
