Travis Kelce ‘made promise’ to Taylor Swift’s family after becoming ‘built-in’ bodyguard

Travis Kelce made a promise to Taylor Swift’s family that he’d protect his pop superstar girlfriend at all-costs – with a source indicating to The Mirror Online that they feel like the NFL star is like a ‘built in bodyguard.
Taylor Swift’s family is said to have been consistently thrilled about her relationship with Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs star, with the two seeing their relationship blossom for the past 12 months.
An insider revealed to the Daily Mail: “Taylor’s family and everyone who knows her is so relieved by her relationship with Travis not only because she is madly in love but also because he makes her security personnel job much easier.” The same source added: “No one will try to come close to her when she is holding hands with her powerhouse boyfriend.”
On his podcast ‘New Heights’ with brother Jason Kelce, Travis has openly discussed his protective instincts towards Taylor, especially during their early dates in New York City which had been highly-publicized last year.
Travis said: “I feel like whenever I’m on a date, I’m always having the sense that I’m a man in the situation. I’m protective, yeah, for sure. You always have to have that feeling or self-awareness, I guess.”
And even just a few months in to their relationship, Page Six had reported that Kelce had already asked for Taylor’s father for his blessing to propose to her. Now, the same source has reported that the two are expected to get engaged very soon.

The couple had confirmed their relationship at a Kansas City Chiefs game last season, when she had been in the stadium with Travis mother. Swift went on to attend 13 NFL games in the 2023 season, following Kelce to support him around the country – including flying 13-hours from Tokyo to pause her tour to see him win the Super Bowl.
Kelce has returned the favor, seeing Swift take to the stage across the world in South America, Australia and in various European countries while her Eras tour. But in recent weeks, the two have spent an extended period apart from each other while Swift continues her tour in Europe while Kelce has returned to the Chiefs’ facility for training camp to begin.
Swift will conclude the European leg of her tour within the next two weeks, with her believed to be planning to fly straigh to Kansas City to spend time with Travis.
