Travis Kelce flew to New York with Taylor Swift after playing in the first NFL game of the season, as he’s keen to spend as much time with the singer who snubbed Brittany Mahomes

After attending Arrowhead Stadium to watch Travis Kelce play in the opening game of the 2024 NFL season, Taylor Swift has been joined back in New York City by the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

Kelce and Swift have spent a large part of the summer together, as the Chiefs star followed the singer on her “Eras Tour” around the world due to not having football commitments. Due to Kelce and the Chiefs playing on Thursday night and having an extended break, the tight end is making an effort to spend some extra time with Swift.

Swift’s “Eras Tour” wraps up on Dec. 8, but her next concert doesn’t take place until Oct. 18 in Miami, FL. It’s expected that Swift will attend the majority of his next four games, but Kelce is taking no chances and spending as much time with his girlfriend as possible before their schedules clash.

Kelce and Swift were spotted boarding a plane to New York on Friday, the night after the Chiefs made a winning start to the new season with a 27-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Swift was seen chatting with Kelce’s parents and other partners of Chiefs players on Thursday night while watching the game but wasn’t seen once with Brittany Mahomes.

Until Swift came along, Brittany was the most famous woman in the Chiefs suit due to her relationship with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. With Patrick Mahomes being extremely close to Kelce both on and off the field, it was only a matter of time before Swift and Brittany started hanging out.

The pair could be seen hugging, taking photos together, and laughing while watching their beau’s last season, and even hung out after games and enjoyed drinks. However, on Thursday night they weren’t seen together leading to concerns over their friendship.

Brittany has recently been subject to backlash after appearing to endorse Donald Trump on Instagram. The wife of Patrick was called out by fans for liking a post that contained Trump’s intended policies ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election, and she later retracted her like.

Patrick Mahomes has never declared his political views, while both Kelce and Swift have endorsed the Democratic Party in the past. Swift was pictured with cookies branded “Biden 2020” ahead of the previous election, and Kelce was interested in attending a recent Democratic National Convention according to CBS.

With both Swift and Brittany Mahomes confirming their attendance on Thursday, fans were eager to see whether they would pick up their friendship. However, unless it was behind the scenes, Swift snubbed Mahomes publicly before leaving Arrowhead Stadium with Kelce.

Swift and Kelce will now hang out in New York with the singer likely staying at her Tribeca apartment. Kelce will report back to the Chiefs in the coming days, as they prepare to face the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday.
