“Travis Kelce Admits Winning the Super Bowl Is Impossible for the Chiefs This Season, Says There’s Almost Nothing They Can Do About It

Last month, Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes suffered heartbreak and disappointment as their Kansas City-area homes were burglarized.

Kelce lost $20,000 from his Leawood, Kansas home when it was “hit” during the Chiefs’ game against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7; the Mahomes family home in Belton, Missouri was struck the previous day, and it remains unknown what the burglar (or burglars) took.

The burglaries have brought a sad tinge to what has been a remarkable season to this point for Mahomes, Kelce, and the rest of the Chiefs. Kansas City is 9-0 — the only unbeaten team in the NFL — and has won an incredible 15 consecutive games dating to last season. The Chiefs are also in hot pursuit of a third consecutive Super Bowl title, which would be a first in NFL history and confirm KC as the league’s latest dynasty.

The FBI comes to Kelce and Mahomes’ rescue
According to TMZ, while Kelce and Mahomes were clearly targeted, it is believed that these burglaries are part of a “ring” of thefts in the Kansas City area. That ring has caught the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation — which is now looking into the burglaries that have taken place.

Early indications are that the burglary spree has crossed state lines — and with that being the case, the FBI’s involvement has become necessary to investigate yet another felony that is connected to the Chiefs, following a shooting at Februrary’s Super Bowl parade and a threat of violence against Kelce and Mahomes during a Morgan Wallen concert at Arrowhead Stadium in August.

Mahomes on Wednesday was asked about the situation — but given that there is an active and ongoing investigation, the superstar quarterback could not say much beyond expressing frustration and disappointment, while the burglaries caused Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift to stay at a hotel in downtown Kansas City.
