Here’s why Tom Cruise is shelling out $65,000 on daughter Suri’s college fees despite dropping ‘Cruise’ name

Suri Noelle, formerly known as Suri Cruise, is all set to head to college at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Interestingly, reports state that her estranged father, Tom Cruise will be shelling out the big bucks to fund her studies.
News outlets reported that Tom will be funding his daughter’s $65,000 tuition fees, even after she dropped his ‘Cruise’ surname.

Daily Mail reports that the actor could not waver off the monetary support as it was one of the major clauses in his 2012 divorce agreement with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

According to the agreement, Cruise is responsible for Suri’s educational expenses, including college tuition. “Tom is indeed paying for Suri’s tuition; he has always paid for her schooling and would never stop, as he is a stand-up guy,” a friend of Cruise shared with DailyMail.com.
The report also states that though Cruise is no longer required to pay the $38,000 annual child support to Holmes now that Suri is 18, his financial support for her education continues, ensuring that she can focus on her studies without financial concerns.

Cruise’s commitment to fulfilling his financial obligations to his daughter remains strong, despite their estranged relationship. The actor has not been photographed with his daughter since April 2013, and it is reported that Suri has distanced herself by changing her last name to “Noelle,” which is her mother Katie’s middle name.
The star-kid has reportedly decided to move out of her swanky home to live in the college dorm where she will be sharing a room with another female student.
