Tom Cruise gives awkward answer about fatherhood amid daughter Suri estrangement
Tom Cruise couldn’t stunt his way out of this question.
The actor, 62, appeared to be caught off guard when asked about his plans for Father’s Day while at the premiere of “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning” in New York City on May 18.
Cruise is a father of three.

He adopted two children with Nicole Kidman, 57, during their marriage: daughter Isabella, 32, and son Connor, 30. The action star also has daughter Suri with ex-wife Katie Holmes, 46.
Cruise’s youngest child is now 19 and goes to college at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Cruise has famously been estranged from Holmes and Suri for years, with many reports claiming he hasn’t seen his daughter since the summer of 2012, when they were spotted together at Disney World.
When questioned about his “ideal” Father’s Day, Cruise’s awkward response was telling.
Taking a moment to pause, the Oscar nominee told “E! News,” “Just having fun, man,” before steering the conversation back to his craft.

“Making movies, big adventure, having a great time,” he added.
Cruise recently gloated that he intends to keep making movies “into my 100s,” adding he has no plans to retire from his No. 1 love: showbiz.
While the “Top Gun” actor has always gushed about his career, he keeps his private life close to his chest.
He’s occasionally seen out with Isabella and Connor.

Cruise and Holmes tied the knot in November 2006, but when the “Dawson’s Creek” alum filed for divorce six years later, she claimed it was “to protect Suri from Scientology,” per a 2013 deposition.
In April 2024, Page Six reported that Cruise still has no relationship with Suri.
While Holmes rarely addresses rumors about her ex-husband, she took to social media to fiercely blast reports that Cruise was giving their daughter a million-dollar trust fund.

Sharing a screenshot from an article that alleged their daughter’s inheritance had “kicked in” and that “mom Katie Holmes has one for her too,” the actress set the record straight, captioning her post, “Enough.”
“Completely false,” Holmes wrote in response. “Daily mail you can stop making stuff up.”
Suri grew up away from her father in New York City with her mother. Holmes has no other children.
In August, the “Alone Together” actress got emotional when speaking about sending Suri off to college.
“I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy,” Holmes told Town & Country.
“I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.”
