TODAY host Al Roker’s startled granddaughter Sky burst into tears on live TV after a messy cooking segment mishap.

Sky, 15 months, made her adorable debut on the NBC show alongside her mom Courtney Roker Laga, Al’s daughter.

During the segment, Courtney demonstrated a few dishes from her and Al’s new cookbook, Al Roker’s Recipes to Live By.

But things went south when her KitchenAid mixer malfunctioned, and sent waffle batter flying all over the studio.

“Woah, it’s a professional chef, ladies and gentlemen!” Al teased his daughter.

Al then jumped away from the kitchen table

“I’m out of the splash zone!” he quipped.

Courtney’s husband Wes then entered the studio with a teary-eyed Sky in his arms.

“Oh, were you scared sweetheart? You wanted your Papa,” Al said affectionately.

“I think she got scared with the KitchenAid!” Courtney explained.

“Everything went crazy!” Al chimed in.

Al spoke with The U.S. Sun earlier this year, where he and his wife Deborah reflected on their 28-year marriage.

When asked what the secret to a long, happy union is, Deborah replied, “Oh, my gosh. I think the biggest thing is not to tell anybody that you have it figured out, because we don’t.

“We are working at it constantly. We are a work in progress.”

Admitting marriage is not always “easy,” she continued, “Life is all about growing and evolving and sometimes compromising and sometimes not.”

The couple celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on September 16, 2024, less than one month after Al turned 70.

Al also gave fans a health update after he underwent major knee surgery last May, which forced him to take a four-week break from presenting the Today show.

In the May interview, he said, “Everything’s great. Yeah, I feel good.

“I’ve been getting out, walking, and now the warm weather is coming, so, you know, I mean, we didn’t really have a spring, but that’s okay. It’s all good, it’s all good.”

In 2022, Al suffered an even scarier health crisis when he was hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs and legs.

“It’s no secret that I had a severe medical issue, and to be completely honest, I almost died,” he later admitted.

The beloved host is now in much better health.
