The Voice Season 26 kicks off the Battles round with coaches making ‘headache’ steals and Snoop Dogg is extra careful with his choices

The Voice Season 26 returned on Monday and Tuesday night for the start of the Battles, as the coaches paired their artists up to perform together. During the two episodes, three of the coaches used their steals for the round to get an eliminated artist on their team.

The Voice Kicks Off Season 26 Battles

One of the standout Battles during Monday night’s show came from Gwen Stefani’s team. Sydney Sterlace and Sloane Simon performed “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish. Sydney, who is just 15 years old, turned four chairs in her audition. Sloane, 19, turned two chairs.

Stefani chose to keep Sydney on her team after the pair’s Battle. It seemed like Sloane was going to be eliminated. However, all three of the other coaches hit their buttons to steal her. She got to choose which team to join. Sloane opted to join Michael Bublé’s team.

Monday’s episode also featured a Battle between Kiara Vega and Mor Ilderton on Bublé’s team. They performed “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls. Kiara, 18, and Mor, 20, both turned three chairs in their Blind Auditions earlier this season.

Bublé chose to keep Kiara on his team. However, Mor wasn’t eliminated, because Gwen Stefani chose to hit her steal button for him. Stefani didn’t turn for Mor in his audition, so it’s interesting that she wanted him on her team after the Battle.

Reba McEntire Steals Gwen Stefani’s Artist

The Voice returned on Tuesday night for another round of Battles, including Team Gwen artists Gabrielle Zabosky and Frankie Torres. They performed “Never Tear Us Apart” by INXS. Both artists turned four chairs in their Blind Audition, so it was quite the matchup.

It was a powerhouse Battle that had the coaches on their feet. Bublé praised the arrangement of the song, while Snoop Dogg said he liked that they didn’t seem like they were outdoing each other. Reba McEntire said she wasn’t familiar with the song, but she loved it.

Stefani ultimately chose to keep Gabrielle on her team. But Frankie wasn’t eliminated, because McEntire hit her button to steal her for her own team. She admitted that she told Stefani to choose Gabrielle so she could steal Frankie.

Snoop Dogg is now the only coach who has not used his steal in the Battles. The show will return next week for more Battles. The artists who made it through this round will move on to the 3-Way Knockouts later in the season.
