The Voice judge Chance the Rapper leaves fans stunned after bold opening move against Reba McEntire
Chance the Rapper is taking an aggressive strategy on the new season of The Voice. The music star blocked one of his opponents from a talented young lady who has a chance to win
The Voice kicked off with an early block as Chance the Rapper made his move.
As one of the show’s vets, he knows a thing or two about game strategy. So, after all of the judges turned around for Dani Stacy, he was determined to persuade her to his side. However, going up against music legend Reba McEntire is no easy feat, so he blocked her from the process altogether.
Dani performed I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor, but she isn’t just stuck to one genre. This meant that Reba and Chance both could have been amazing options for her. Dani is also current traveling the country in an RV with her boyfriend to play music.

One fan called Chance a “hater” for his approach to selecting members of his team. Another added: “Chance blocking Reba already, oh he’s scared!”
Fans were “shook” by his choice, but they know it’s all in good fun and totally not personal. One said: “Oh right out of the gate! Reba & Chance will be the bff’s this season!”
This season of The Voice comes with plenty of twists and challenges. One of the newest additions to the show is the existence of the double chair. Dan+Shay joined the judges’ panel this year, but that offered a new set of issues. Producer had to decide if they would pit the two against each other or have them act as a team.
The country duo was given a joint chair where they make their decisions together and will be co-mentoring their budding stars. Dan+Shay are replacing Niall Horan who held a spot on the show for two seasons, winning both times. The former boybander departed from the show since it was time for him to head off on his worldwide tour which kicked off in his home country of Ireland this past week.

The switch up came with some mixed reviews by fans who are still adapting to Dan+Shay’s style. One wrote: “I don’t know about Dan + Shay as coaches on #TheVoice. They’re a little too aggressive right out of the gate…It’s too busy/too many coaches.”
Another countered: “I like the new judges Dan & Shay, but I am really missing the old ones tonight like Blake, Kelly and Niall. I hope this new panel develops some chemistry like the past ones. I watch this show for the judges just as much.”
Reba joined the show last season to take over for Blake Shelton who had been on since the beginning. Over the years, a show like this is bound to change a bit, but the fanbase is still as attached as ever.
