The Voice fans BASH judges for ‘terrible’ Battle song choices including Britney Spears’ Toxic
The Voice concluded its Battle Rounds for Season 26 on Monday, with many fans calling out judges for ‘terrible’ song choices.
Six singers lost their Battle Round in the new episode, two of whom were stolen to move on to the 3-Way Knockout Rounds with a new team.
Still, many fans were quite upset on social media with a number of questionable song choices.
The first battle of the night was between Michael Buble’s singers J. Paul vs Kamila Kiehne, 17, who were given Britney Spears’ 2003 hit Toxic.
Many fans took to social media to call out that song choice and others as the Battle Rounds came to a close, ahead of next week’s 3-Way Knockouts.

@katyluvsutoo said, ‘#TheVoice You did them dirty Bublé, tough song to show off you singing chops.’
@MistaFeller added, ‘Of all songs, why Toxic? How will this show off their voices??? #TheVoice #TheVoiceBattles.’
@houseofwarwick added, ‘Brittney Spears? I don’t think this a good song choice….’ while @tish_cowboysfan said, ‘“You’re welcome.” For what? The most bizarre song choice yet?’
@tyeishashaw admitted, ‘This song doesn’t suit them,’ while @CCxo___ said, ‘The song choice is terrible. They sound a MESS. Toxic??’
@new_gyal said, ‘Bad song choice,’ while @WaltzingMtilda admitted, ‘Oh man, Buble just did his team so dirty. Terrible choice for both singers.’
@unKleBING may have even stopped watching, adding, ‘Oh good God this is terrible, I can’t watch,’ as @SoUWanaBaSinger said it was an, ‘Underwhelming choice.’
Buble wasn’t the only judge fans called out, with Gwen Stefani criticized for her song choice in the battle between Camryn Brooks and Rowdy Shea.
Stefani chose the Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves duet I Remember Everything, which @jeremygamer29 said, ‘Again, bad song choice.’

Others like @tayquack_LT said Snoop Dogg, ‘made a perfect song choice,’ in his team’s battle between Mary McAvoy vs Michael Alexandersson, where they sang I Only Have Eyes For You by The Flamingos.
Still, others like @rulerofmyself said it was, ‘Probably the worst song choice ever,’ and @houseofwarwick said, ‘I understood Snoop’s vision with this song choice, but his artists didn’t.’
@Boulevard_Bobby didn’t hold back, saying, ‘@SnoopDogg, @gwenstefani was capping… you chose a HORRIBLE song for the battle. #TheVoice “I only have eyes for you” shit was garbage…respectfully.’
After the first battle, Buble picked J. Paul, while Stefani picked Brooks in the second battle, while neither their opponents were stolen.
Team Reba’s Tanner Frick went up against Tate Renner, singing Need a Favor by Jelly Roll, which was praised by @27cc40a7ee3a402 on X.
Reba was flummoxed with her decision, ultimately going with Tate, with Buble using his last steal to snatch up Tanner.
Snoop picked Mary McAvoy over Michael Alexandersson and Reba picked youngster Katie O. over trio 323.
The episode ended with Buble’s Cassidy Lee facing Cameron Wright, singing Hero by Mariah Carey.
Still, others like @rulerofmyself said it was, ‘Probably the worst song choice ever,’ and @houseofwarwick said, ‘I understood Snoop’s vision with this song choice, but his artists didn’t.’
The evenly-matched battle had Buble standing in his seat as he agonized over the decision towards the end of the episode.
The crooner ultimately picking Cameron… before Reba used the final steal of the season to grab Cassidy, as the Battle Rounds came to a close.
The preview for next week’s episode reveals there will be a Three-Way Knockout, with ‘mega mentors’ Sting and Jennifer Hudson.
Part 1 of the Three-Way Knockout airs Monday, November 11 at 8 PM ET on NBC, while Part 2 airs Tuesday, November 12 at 8 PM ET.
