‘The Voice’ Fans Confused Over Simone Biles Being Team Snoop’s Playoff Advisor: ‘Makes 0 Sense’
Simone Biles was named a playoff advisor for Snoop Dogg’s team on The Voice, and many fans have expressed their confusion over the decision.
Shortly after Simone’s upcoming role on the show was announced in an Instagram post on Thursday, November 22, several fans rushed to the comments section to ask why the gymnast, 27, had been given the gig.
“I love her … but I’m baffled?” one person wrote in the comments section, and another added, “How does this make sense? Lol.”
The confused comments continued as a third fan weighed in, “This makes absolutely 0 sense. I feel bad for the contestants on his team tbh.”
Others questioned Snoop Dogg’s judgment when he chose Simone to help his team. “Snoop must have smoked one and forgot what show he on,” one person jokingly wrote, and another commented, “So this must mean Snoop is going to the next Coach of Team USA gymnastics.”
While many fans were confused, others argued that the casting made perfect sense given Simone’s success as an athlete. “People not realizing that Simone can actually give great advice on performance, routine, stage presence and confidence,” Noivas Wright, who competed on season 23 of the show, wrote. “It’s not just about ‘the voice.’ They can already sing they don’t need advice on that … trust me, I would know, as a performer from the show.”
“This totally makes sense when you realize that these people can already SING and what they need is training on stage presence, confidence, and performance, which she’s an expert in,” another social media user chimed in.
After the announcement was made, Simone – who will make her debut on the Monday, November 25, episode – revealed why she and Snoop Dogg, 53, make a great team after he supported her during the Olympics in Paris.
“We were able to riff off each other and give the artists the best insight going into the next round,” she told The Associated Press after they finished filming.

After noting that working with Snoop Dogg was “pretty easy” and “simple,” Simone explained that they’re “both very mellow.” She continued, “But if we need to bring that energy up, then we can. For us, it was about instilling confidence going into the next week.”
The Olympian also explained why she believes she is qualified to help contestants despite not being a singer. “These are the learning steps: Learn, process, go back in and work,” she explained. “They all have the vocal talent. It’s about harnessing that, knowing when to bring it out and which songs to sing and which genre you fit in. And what you want your legacy to be. This is truly a special show as well as the judging. They don’t get to see the physical appearance first. It’s all off of ears, listening and putting their craft together as well.”
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg also weighed in on why he thought they made a good team. “We have such diverse careers. But the things that we dealt with, they’re dealing with now,” he told the outlet.
