Production for Wheel of Fortune canceled future tapings amid the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. Tapings take place at the Culver City Studios lot.

WoF On Hold

According to a recent report via The U.S. Sun, the production behind the classic game show canceled tapings for future episodes. The wildfires continue to rage through Los Angeles and nearby areas, halting the production of television shows and movies and delaying upcoming air dates.

A statement was submitted to The U.S. Sun. This also affects the taping of future episodes of Jeopardy!, including the upcoming “Tournament of Champions.” Guests who purchased tickets for the tapings were informed that production was shut down.

“Due to the severe weather conditions and out of an abundance of caution and safety for all, all of next week’s Jeopardy show tapings have unfortunately been canceled,” the statement reads. “This tournament will likely move; however, we have not been given any information about new dates as of yet.”

WoF was supposed to resume filming this week. However, an insider close to the show announced that production was shut down. Both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune film tapings are on the Sony Studios lot in Culver City, California. “There are no new dates set in place yet, but everyone is actively doing as much as they can,” the source told The U.S. Sun.

How This Could Affect Future Episodes

The upcoming episodes were previously scheduled for February and early March. Now, it’s unclear how long the delay will last. Although the Sony Pictures Studio lot wasn’t evacuated, the devastating fires in the Palisades have impacted many crew members. WoF has a production team of 100 staff members.

The lot is located south of the Pacific Palisades. The Associated Press reports that the fires are currently at 14%. Host Ryan Seacrest has spread awareness about the Los Angeles wildfires. He took to social media to share warnings and promote various organizations that are helping amid this crisis.
