Jeopardy! contestant says Prince William and Princess Kate were ‘excellent neighbors’
On Jeopardy!, a contestant shared a anecdote about being neighbors with Prince William & Princess Kate Middleton
Prince William & Princess Kate Middleton are apparently “excellent neighbors” to have.
On Friday’s episode of Jeopardy!, one-day Greg Jolin and system specialist & accountant from Raymond, New Hampshire, went up against Julie Phillips, an attorney from Alexandria, Virginia and Sam Cameron, a finance manager from Fargo, North Dakota. After the first break on the trivia game show, the segment where contestants share an anecdote occurred. Host Ken Jennings asked Julie about her famous neighbors before she was an attorney in Virginia and Julie explained.
“I study abroad in London and did not know where my flat would be located before I arrived and was shocked to discover it was across the street from Kensington Palace which was the home of Prince William and Princess Kate as well as their son George,” Julie said.
Ken asked if they were good neighbors and did things like took out their trash. Julie responded that they were “excellent neighbors” and yes to the garbage question. She also added that they were “super friendly” and “always waved.”
Kate and William no longer live in Kensington Palace since they moved out in 2022 and they currently reside at Adelaide Cottage. The couple also had two more children aside from George since Julie was their neighbor: daughter Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
At one point on Jeopardy!, the theme of the Royals followed Julie when she got a question right that involved the Royal family. A clue from the category “Top British baby names” was selected for $2,000 and the clue read “This name that’s in the Top 20 belongs to a boy born in 2019 who’s sixth in line to the British throne.” Julie answered correctly with, “Who is Archie.”
The Prince Archie clue
Ken afterwards said to Julie, “Your neighbor’s family” which made Julie laughed as she said yes. Prince Archie is the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Prince Harry is Prince William’s brother, making Archie his nephew and cousins to his three children with Kate. Harry and Meghan also have another child, daughter Prince Lilibet.
Julie did not end up winning Jeopardy, she came in third after her wager left her at 2$ as she got the Final Jeopardy clue wrong. Greg ended up becoming a two-day champion with a total earnings of $50,002.
