Families strolled through a winter wonderland with the Currys this past weekend.

NBA player Steph Curry celebrated their tenth annual Christmas with the Currys event on Sunday with his wife, Ayesha Curry.

Through their nonprofit Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, the Currys helped families by providing aid to 2,000 people in need—500 of them were children—during their winter wonderland event at Oakland’s The Bridge Yard.

In 2019, the Currys founded the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation with the goal of promoting a healthy childhood through the elimination of childhood hunger, providing access to education, and setting up secure spaces where kids may play.

According to Good Morning America, the foundation’s partners—Homes Empowerment, Black Culture Zone, East Oakland Youth Development Centre, Community Education Partnerships, and Oakland Athletic League—selected the families that were invited to the event.

“We care about our community and recognise that parents are already working really hard to make ends meet, and that this time of year can be particularly difficult for them. Our goal at Christmas with the Currys is to lessen this load for underprivileged Oakland families and make sure they are a part of a community that makes the holidays joyful.”

The participants enjoyed an exciting day of events planned by the Currys, which included ice skating, snowball fights, sledding, food trucks, and sugar cookie baking. Even meeting Mr. and Mrs. Claus was an opportunity extended to the guests.

“How big an impact the gift of giving can make in one family’s life,” the Currys said the experience taught them.

Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi, her husband, Stanley Cup winner Bret Hedican, and Workday Chairperson Aneel Bhusri were all present for the Curry celebration.
