Steph Curry, the two-time MVP of the Golden State Warriors, has surpassed mere sports fame to become one of the world’s most elite celebrities. Being one of the most well-known individuals on the globe will undoubtedly lead to countless celebrity encounters.
There is predictability in many of those relationships and exchanges. Some are a little more unexpected than others.
Curry put on a display in an overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks around a month ago, scoring an incredible 60 points. Following the match, cameras saw him handing up his jersey to Lindsay Lohan and her spouse Bader Shammas, as well as taking photos with them.
It is possible that curious eyes enlarge the photo and notice what Curry penned: “To Luai” on one line and “Your godparents love you!” on the other, along with the words “Warriors!!” and his signature.
These were not merely amusing terms. In fact, Steph and his spouse Ayesha are godparents to Luai, the child born in July to Lohan and Shammas.
Lohan discussed her tight friendship with the Currys on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night. The bond is a result of renowned chef and restaurateur Michael Mina, who launched International Smoke in San Francisco with Ayesha.
“My husband is acquainted with Michael Mina, the chef,” Lohan told an astounded Fallon. “And while we were in Dubai, where Mina owns a restaurant and Lohan and Shammas reside, Michael Mina kept telling Bader that Lindsay and Ayesha ought to meet. We met when she happened to be visiting Dubai, and we hit it off right away.
Then Lohan told about how she discussed her desire to have children with Ayesha and how, soon after, she found herself expecting her first child, Luai.
Ayesha’s relationship paid off as she was able to secure a role in the Netflix movie Irish Wish, which will be released later this month and was promoted by Lohan during her visit on Fallon.
