Taylor Swift fans have been left heartbroken after a former high school classmate shared an emotional story about the singer’s life before finding fame.

Jessica McLane revealed she went to the same school as Taylor just as her career was starting to take off. Jessica took to TikTok to make a bold claim about what their classmates thought of Taylor and the singer’s fans aren’t happy.

In the video, Jessica explained that they both grew up in the same town and went to the same school. Although she admitted she didn’t know much about the Grammy-winning singer, she confirmed they were at Hendersonville High School in Tennessee at the same time.

In the now-viral video, she said: “In 2006, I’m a freshman in high school. Taylor is I think a junior. Teardrops on my Guitar had just come out I think over the summer.

“Obviously, she got really big, and that’s the year that she left school and got homeschooled.” Jessica then dropped the bombshell that when Taylor’s music career started to explode and she became “super successful”, her popularity at school started to drop.

Suggesting most of her classmates “hated her,” she said: “She’s like, literally 16, 17, leaving high school to pursue a career that people were telling her that she could never have.” She added: “Also the guys that she was writing these songs about, they were still in school, they were still there.

“Now they have a hit song about them talking about what a s—– boyfriend they are.” Seemingly taking it all in her stride, Taylor had her moment when she invited everyone from her old class to the CMA Awards back in 2009, essentially as a grand gesture of triumph.

“She invited us to the CMAs to say f— you. And we deserved it. So to Taylor: touche,” Jessica said. The video sparked a wave of support for Taylor from her fans, with one person writing: “Even if Taylor’s Dad was financially privileged enough to leverage her career, no amount of money will grant you talent and staying power.”

Another said: “The best revenge to your haters and naysayers is….success. And she showed you all that in spades,” and a third fan added: “Because she got to have the life that every girl dreamed of having an couldn’t and she did it in a badass way.”

Taylor, who has sold a whopping 200 million records, not only reigns supreme as the top-earning female on tour but has also hit a major financial milestone, according to Forbes, cementing her status as pop music’s first billionaire. Additionally, she stands proud at number 34 on the list of America’s wealthiest self-made women.
