Taylor Swift loves her fans – even those who haven’t been born yet!
The 25-year-old singer, who’s currently traveling the country on her 1989 world tour, helped two concertgoers make an incredibly special pregnancy announcement.
Jesse Rasmussen and his wife Lindsey, who are expecting their first child, met Swift during a media meet and greet and asked her to participate in sharing the big news.
In the photo, Swift holds a sign that reads “Baby’s 1st Concert,” and the Rasmussens stand on either side of the singer proudly showing off their ultrasounds.
“Thank you so much @taylorswift13 helping me tell the world IM GOING TO BE A DAD,” Rasmussen wrote, sharing the image.
“It wasn’t until we got the ultrasound pictures that we thought of having them and the sign that said ‘Baby’s First Concert,’” he said. “My wife Lindsey is a kindergarten teacher, so I left all of the creative sign making up to her.”
Rasmussen said despite planning they were still nervous about actually asking Swift to participate.
“We had the sign and the pictures with us sort of hidden just in case we chickened out,” Rasmussen said, adding, “Then she walked into the room and just started hugging people. That was the cool thing.”
The dad-to-be said after blurting out the plan to Swift, she was immediately on board. The couple has since used the photo to announce the pregnancy to friends and family.
“It was fun because the reactions were all pretty similar,” he told E!. “First ‘Wow that’s so cool you got to meet her’ or ‘She is really beautiful and tall’ then ‘Wait… what’s that sign say?!’”
Rasmussen said the couple were even more surprised when they received a handwritten note from the Grammy winner a few days later. The card congratulated the couple and thanked them for sharing the big moment with her.
