The news Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are engaged seems inevitable. They’re just so happy together, it really works! They’re SO going to get married. We’ve even heard a few times that they were secretly engaged already.
But a new source is throwing some cold water on all the speculation. Not only does this person close to Taylor and Trav claim the couple are not engaged — they say they aren’t even considering getting engaged anymore, not in the near future anyway. Why? Well… Because of fans and the media!

The insider told DailyMail.com they feel like the idea of an engagement announcement — something that should be a big, beautiful, surprise — has been “devalued” by the nonstop speculation:
“Since the beginning of their relationship everyone has talked about them getting engaged and married… At this point Taylor and Travis almost feel like an engagement would not feel very authentic.”
Oh no! It’s like how they say a watch pot never boils! Apparently it’s because the pot gets all self-conscious and feels exploited? The insider says the couple have been talking about marriage for months, practically since they started dating.
It’s just gone that well. But with so many people either doubting or cyberstalking their relationship, the insider claims, they feel like the “sanctity” of marriage — and the romance — has been a little bit cheapened:
“Of course, they have discussed a future together and marriage is a part of that. But it feels like the non-stop speculation and chatter about their engagement and wedding somehow devalues the sanctity of it.”
Not just the idea of marriage — but the idea of engagement has been a little marred, too. “People are so diehard to see Taylor with a ring on her finger and are trying to manifest and will it to happen. But imagine if you were them. How does Travis even propose at this point?”
Yeah. We guess nothing could live up to the hype. He could put the ring on a football and throw it up to the suite at Arrowhead stadium, and a lot of fans would still shrug their shoulders.
We mean, it’s Taylor! And it’s Travis! How do they top it? Maybe the solution is to go the other way? If/when they do decide to get engaged, maybe that will be the quietest, most intimate way possible.
Like just the two of them on a beach somewhere. Then when they DO decide to announce, Taylor will do the big, celebratory thing for fans? Just a thought.
