Disney+ is officially in its Taylor Swift era.
The Swift takeover of the Disney+ homepage will be worldwide with a few exceptions, including Turkey, where the film will not be available until April 3.
Disney reportedly paid more than $75 million for worldwide streaming rights to “The Eras Tour” concert film, which Swift’s company produced. The newly expanded version of “The Eras Tour” on Disney+ — clocking in at three and a half hours — includes five bonus songs: “Cardigan,” from “Folklore,” plus four acoustic songs: “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “Maroon,” “You Are in Love” and “I Can See You.” (Those four, plus “Our Song” and “You’re on Your Own Kid,” are in the 26-minute Acoustic Collection extra.) The film was sH๏τ at the first three L.A. shows of the Eras tour last August.
Titles in Disney+’s Swift-themed collections include:
Fearless (Disney’s Version): “Heroic and brave adventures” including “Moana,” “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” “Limitless With Chris Hemsworth”
Speak Now (Disney’s Version): “Enchantment, princesses and dragons” including “The Princess Bride,” “Enchanted,” “The Princess Diaries”
Red (Disney’s Version): “Everything red,” including “Turning Red,” “The Incredibles,” “High School Musical”
1989 (Disney’s Version): “Clᴀssics from Taylor’s birth year” including “The Little Mermaid,” “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” “Turner & Hooch”
Reputation (Disney’s Version): “Big reputations, endgames and snakes” including “Cruella,” “The Empire Strikes Back,” “Avengers: Endgame”
Lover (Disney’s Version): “Celebrating romance of all kinds” including “Love, Victor,” “Robin Hood,” short film “Paperman”
Folklore (Disney’s Version): “Cottagecore, folklore and fables” including “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe,” and (of course) “Taylor Swift: Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions”
Evermore (Disney’s Version): “Tales of love, witchy adventures and woodland aesthetics” including “Into the Woods,” “Once Upon a Time,” Tuck Everlasting”
Midnights (Disney’s Version) “Everything nighttime, cats and sparkly” including “Cinderella,” “The Aristocats,” “Moon Knight”
Here’s a look at the Disney+ homepage for “The Eras Tour” launch:
In its theatrical release, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” generated $261.7 million at the global box office after its Oct. 13 debut, making it the highest-grossing concert film to date. The film was released digitally via Universal Pictures on Dec. 13, Swift’s birthday, with three bonus songs not in the theatrical release — “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer” and “Long Live” — which are also in the Disney+ version.
