Sunny Hostin Announces ‘Sad’ Change to The View After 10 Years and Confirms Series’ Future Amid Cancellation Rumors

**Sunny Hostin Announces ‘Sad’ Change to The View After 10 Years and Confirms Series’ Future Amid Cancellation Rumors**

In a heartfelt announcement on Friday’s episode of *The View*, co-host Sunny Hostin revealed a significant change for the beloved daytime talk show that has been a staple of American television for over two decades. After a decade of broadcasting from their current studio, the show will be moving to a new, state-of-the-art location in downtown New York City. This news comes as a bittersweet moment for the hosts and fans alike, especially amid swirling rumors about the show’s potential cancellation.

As the episode unfolded, Joy Behar, who moderated the day’s discussion, introduced Hostin’s announcement with a sense of anticipation. “This is the final episode of the season,” Hostin began, her tone a mix of excitement and nostalgia. “And after 10 years and 2,143 episodes, this is also the last show that we will do from this studio.” The announcement was met with a mix of cheers and sighs from the audience, reflecting the emotional weight of leaving a familiar space that has hosted countless memorable moments.

Joy Behar says Sunny Hostin wouldn't stop praising Whoopi Goldberg during “Annie” performance: 'Shut up!'

Hostin continued, “We’re sad to say goodbye, but we are thrilled to be moving to a brand-new studio downtown, state-of-the-art. And we will see you there in September for Season 28 of *The View*.” The upcoming season is set to premiere after Labor Day, promising fans a fresh start in a new environment.

*The View* first premiered in 1997, originally filmed in ABC Television Studio 23 before relocating to the ABC Broadcast Center in 2014. The decision to move again marks a new chapter for the show, which has seen its share of ups and downs over the years. While the exact location of the new studio has yet to be disclosed, the anticipation surrounding the change is palpable.

The announcement comes at a time when *The View* has faced scrutiny regarding its ratings and the dynamics among its hosts. Recently, some fans took to social media to express their desire for the show to be canceled, citing tensions among the co-hosts and a perceived decline in quality. Comments like “Can we cancel *The View*? I never saw such hateful human beings,” reflect the polarized opinions surrounding the show.

However, Hostin’s announcement also served to quell some of these concerns. A source close to the production confirmed that despite the rumors, *The View* will indeed return for another season, with ratings reportedly remaining strong. This reassurance is crucial for fans who have followed the show through its various iterations and controversies.

Sunny Hostin thinks “The View” cohost Joy Behar was 'Black in another life'

During the episode, the hosts engaged in light-hearted banter about their upcoming move, with Joy Behar humorously noting her extensive experience with relocating. “But, the good thing is when you move, you can purge things,” she quipped, prompting a lively discussion about hoarding versus purging among the co-hosts. Sunny and Sara Haines admitted to being purgers, while Ana Navarro playfully defended her collection of over 50 pairs of shoes, saying, “I love all of my shoes. I have no children, and my shoes and my dog are my children.”

The camaraderie and humor displayed during this segment highlighted the chemistry among the hosts, a key element that has contributed to the show’s longevity. Whoopi Goldberg, who was absent from the episode, is expected to return alongside Sunny, Joy, Sara, Ana, and Alyssa Farah Griffin for the new season, ensuring that the dynamic remains intact.

As *The View* prepares for its transition to a new studio, fans can look forward to the fresh energy and perspectives that Season 28 promises to bring. While the move may evoke a sense of nostalgia for the past decade, it also opens the door to new possibilities and discussions that have made the show a vital part of daytime television.

In conclusion, while Sunny Hostin’s announcement about the studio change may be tinged with sadness, it also signals an exciting new chapter for *The View*. As the show gears up for its return in September, fans can rest assured that the conversation will continue, and the diverse voices that have defined the program will remain at the forefront. The future of *The View* is bright, and its loyal audience will undoubtedly be there to witness the next evolution of this iconic talk show.

After discussing the first Hot Topic of the day, The View came back from a commercial break.

Joy Behar, who was the moderator for the day, said that Sunny, 55, had an exciting announcement to make.

“This is the final episode of the season,” Sunny said.

“And after 10 years and 2,143 episodes, this is also the last show that we will do from this studio.”

“We’re sad to say goodbye, but we are thrilled to be moving to a brand-new studio downtown, state-of-the-art,” she went on.

“And we will see you there in September for Season 28 of The View.”

Season 28 will premiere after Labor Day in September.

VIEW STUDIOS

When The View premiered in 1997, it was filmed in ABC Television Studio 23 in New York City until 2014.

In 2014, the daytime talk show moved to ABC Broadcast Center.

Now, The View will film in a different location that has not yet been announced.

The View fans beg ABC network to ‘cancel the show immediately’ as hosts are called ‘horrible’ and ‘disrespectful’
All six hosts – Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny, Joy, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro – are expected to return.

‘THAT IS A LIE’

After Sunny made the announcement, Joy, 81, said that she has moved more times in her life than she can count.

“But, the good thing is when you move, you can purge things,” she said.

Joy asked her co-hosts if they purge things or hoard things and Sunny and Sara, 46, said that they like purging things.

The View hosts

The View is an American talk show airing on ABC from 11am-12pm EST, Monday through Friday. It features a diverse group of women that discuss the day’s “Hot Topics”, ranging from hard-hitting news to celebrity gossip. The six co-hosts include:

“Sara, that is a lie,” Sunny called her out.

Sunny went on to explain that each host had five huge boxes that they could use to pack up their things in.

“I took up two,” she said. “Sara took up all five and was looking for more.”

“You are going to move all of this junk to the next office?” Joy asked.

“It’s not junk,” Sara shot back.

Sunny then called out Ana, 52, and said that she is not a purger because she has “over 50 pairs of shoes” in her dressing room.

“I’m feeling attacked right now!” Ana said.

“I love all of my shoes. I have no children and my shoes and my dog are my children.”

Alyssa, 35, said that her office is bare and she only used one box.

‘IT’S A CIRCUS’

Last month, The View fans demanded for the talk show to be canceled.

They blamed the hosts for its fluctuating ratings.

Tensions have been rising on the panel, due to opposing viewpoints when it comes to opinions on politics.

X users begged ABC to cancel The View.

“Can we cancel The View? I never saw such hateful human beings,” one fan tweeted.

“@ABCnetwork cancel The View. It is disgusting!!!” another fan wrote.

However, as Sunny mentioned and a source told The U.S. Sun, The View will be back next season.

The source added that ratings have been off the charts despite reports of them plummeting.
