‘The Voice’s Sloane Simon Brings Coaches To Tears Singing Days After Her Dad Died

It was an emotional night on The Voice as Sloane Simon took the stage to perform Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe” during the playoffs stage of the competition.
On the latest episode of the singing competition, Simon revealed her dad had recently died, which brought the coaches to tears.
“I know how brave you are,” Michael Bublé told Simon after her performance. “I know you and your family are going through stuff. You just lost your dad.”

Bublé continued, “You said that you would stay because he would’ve wanted you to be here.”
The teary-eyed singer said that her dad told her she would be “crazy to turn back,” so she dedicated her performance to him as she “sang for him.”
Snoop Dogg got up from his chair, saying, “The spirit of your father is telling me to give you a hug right now,” and adding, “I’m so proud of you right now.”
Cameras also captured Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani holding back their tears as they saw Simon on stage.
After the singers took the stage, Bublé chose Sofronio Vasquez and Shye to advance to the next stage, leaving Jaukeem Fortson, Cameron Wright, and Simon out of the competition.
Bublé told Simon, “I know that your dad must be so proud of you. I can’t really express to you in any words how highly I think of you and how amazing I think what you’ve done today is.”
Earlier in the episode, Simon related to the lyrics of Roan’s song, saying it “encapsulated” how her family felt about her dad.
“My dad isn’t doing great. His oncologist said he had anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks left [to live],” she said. “And it’s tough not being with my family, but he wants me to be here. My mom wants me to here, my sister and my brother, everybody wants me to be here because this opportunity, being here gives them something to be excited for too.”
