Vanna White Gets Emotional Reflecting on ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Journey With Pat Sajak
Ahead of Pat’s final WoF episode as host, the TV personality said goodbye in a heartfelt video.
As Pat’s final episode hosting the hit game show airs on June 7, folks witnessed his co-star Vanna White reflect on all the years the two spent together on television. In a video uploaded on Instagram on June 6, she sat in the show’s green room as she expressed her heartfelt gratitude for all the time she and Pat spent together. What’s more, she emoted how much Pat’s presence has affected her throughout their journey onscreen, sharing the most important elements of how strong the two’s bond truly has become.
“I can’t believe that tomorrow is our last show together,” she emotionally began the clip. “I don’t know how to put into words what these past 41 years have meant to me, but I’m going to try. 8,000 episodes went by like that. When I first started, I was so green. You made me so comfortable and made me so confident, Pat … As the years have gone by, we’ve grown up on television. But we’ve also shared so much more behind the scenes, and as much fun as we had on camera, those memories, milestones and life events we shared with our families outside the studio are my favorite.”
We’ve watched our children grow up together,” she added. “We’ve traveled all over the world. We’ve eaten hundreds of meals together. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve celebrated. What an incredible and unforgettable journey we’ve had. And I’ve enjoyed every minute of it with you.”
“As this chapter of our lives is coming to an end, I know you’ll still be close by,” she concluded. “You’re like a brother to me, and I consider you a true lifelong friend who I will always adore. I love you, Pat.”
As fans watched Vanna make a heartfelt declaration toward Pat, one person immediately went to the comments with her own feelings about the host’s last time on Wheel of Fortune.
“Love you @officialvannawhite 🤍,” Pat’s daughter Maggie Sajak replied.
Others also felt Vanna’s emotion about her co-star, and they went to the comments to say their goodbyes to Pat as well.
“Ugh, we’ve all known this was coming, but we’ve been in denial. What a beautiful message to Pat. ❤️❤️❤️,” one person wrote. “So emotional … Pat will be sorely missed,” another agreed. “Oh my goodness. I am literally in tears. 😭,” a different follower added.

As fans may remember, Pat announced his retirement from Wheel of Fortune back in June 2023, ahead of the 2023-2024 TV season. He also shared he’s staying on to be a consultant for the show, helping out along the way as Ryan Seacrest steps into his role as host.
We’ll certainly miss seeing Pat and Vanna together on our screens, and congratulations on an incredible run.
