However, Michael was right with an answer under the Men In Medicine category, he moved out of the negatives to $0.
He had the chance to be able to make it to the Final Jeopardy! question but got the answer wrong in the Colonial America category, bringing him back to -$400.
The question was, “If you needed some upholstery work done in this city, you could go to the shop Betsy & John Ross ran on Arch Street.”
Michael was the first to buzz in. He answered, “Boston.”
“No! I’m sorry. It was Philadelphia I’m afraid, Michael. That means you don’t quite get back in time to make it into Final Jeopardy,” Ken responded.
“But, it was exciting to watch, we loved having you.”
“Loved being here,” Michael said, clearly down.
‘I FEEL SO BAD’
On X, formerly Twitter, fans sent praises to Michael and revealed they were “pulling” for him to make it through the round.
2021 Jeopardy contestant Lindsay Wilcox said, “Auuuuugh! I was pulling for Michael to make it! So close. Well fought.”
“Would it have been a lost cause? Maybe. But it was great to watch Michael mount a comeback from deep in the red,” a second tweeted.
“I feel bad for Michael. So close,” someone else said.
Oh no! I thought for sure Michael was going to get back on the plus side after being out of the hold,” a fan shared.
“However, a costly mistake on the very last clue got him. He had to go for it and I certainly could not blame him.
“Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.”
“Had to take the shot, Michael. Good on you for doing so,” a fifth admitted.
