SHOCK : ‘Jeopardy’ Host Ken Jennings Bickered With A Contestant Over A Cue Card Mix-Up About The Term “BF”

‘Jeopardy’ Host Ken Jennings Bickered With A Contestant Over A Cue Card Mix-Up About The Term “BF”: “That Could Be Best Friend, That Could Be Boyfriend”

Jeopardy contestant Julia Markham Cameron stood her ground during Tuesday’s (Dec. 12) episode when host Ken Jennings had an awkward mix-up.

As he introduced her on the show, Jennings asked Cameron about her “best friend” who was supporting her from the live audience, to which she replied, “Well, Ken, he’s more than my best friend; he’s my boyfriend.”

The game show host then pointed to his cue card, which apparently read “BF.” He argued back, “That could be best friend, that could be boyfriend.”

But Cameron was not buying it. “No, Ken,” she replied. “Best friend is BFF.”

This was Cameron’s second time competing on the game show. This time, she was competing as part of the Champions Wildcard semifinals to land a spot in the upcoming Tournament of Champions.

She explained to Jennings that her boyfriend joined her today because he couldn’t attend her first appearance on the show due to Covid restrictions.

Cameron, who is a lawyer hailing from Brooklyn, came in third with just $1,600 in earnings. Contestant Gary Hollis, a chemistry professor from Roanoke, Virginia, will instead be moving on to the Tournament of Champions after coming out on top with $20,812.

Despite the mix-up and her loss, fans at home praised Cameron for her performance on the show.

“Julia is the People’s Princess of Jeopardy!” one fan wrote on the Jeopardy Reddit page.

Another commented, “My favourite contestant ever! Great to see her again.”

The Tournament of Champions Season will air on Jeopardy starting Dec. 19. Whoever comes out on top will later compete in the Jeopardy! Masters competition next May.

Jeopardy! airs weeknights at 7/6c. Check out the website for your local listings.
