‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Stunned as Contestants Swing and Miss on ‘Easy’ Final Clue

None of the contestants that appeared on the Monday, October 7, episode of Jeopardy! were able to answer the “Final Jeopardy” question correctly, and fans of the show simply could not believe it.

Monday night’s contestants, Mark Fitzpatrick, Amanda Prusila, and Daniel Gately all competed in what would be considered a typical episode of the game show – up until the end. Fitzpatrick was in the lead with $23,000, Gately in second with $4,200, and Prusila followed with just $600 by the time the clue was revealed.

The category was “Brand Names” and the clue, delivered by host Ken Jennings, read, “In 1886 this brand’s bookkeeper came up with its name & flowing script logo, saying, ‘The two Cs would look well in advertising.'”

The “Final Jeopardy” clue is typically a tricky piece of trivia in which the participants can choose to wager their earnings from the show to win big if they get the answer right. Prusila and Fitzpatrick both wrote “Coco Chanel” as their answers, while Gately wrote “Currier.”

The right answer? Coca-Cola.

Some viewers thought that the closing clue was too obvious and were dumbfounded that none of the contestants got it right. Many took to social media to share their frustrations.

“Me screaming Coca Cola & smh that they all blew it…🥴 #Jeopardy” said one fan on X (formerly known as Twitter), while another said, “I knew today’s Final Jeopardy answer and all 3 contestants didn’t. Today is a good day.”

A third fan noted their frustration, saying, “Now how did me & my mom say the right answer but none of them didn’t??”

“Cannot believe that all three contestants missed such an obvious Final Jeopardy question: What is Coca Cola?,” another bluntly declared.

Both Gately and Prusila wagered $0, while Fitzpatrick put up quite the gamble – $3,400 of his winnings.
