Well, well, well. In addition to being a memorable contestant on Jeopardy!, it looks like Nick Cascone has quite the Hollywood career.
The orthopedic physician assistant made headlines in late November when he became a winner in Jeopardy!‘s inaugural Champions Wildcard competition. Alongside the victory, he guaranteed himself a spot in the upcoming Tournament of Champions, where he’ll compete alongside other winners, including Celebrity Jeopardy! season 1 winner Ike Barinholtz.
While his placement in the annual TV challenge may have him playing alongside a well-known comedy actor, it may surprise people to learn that like Ike, Nick is a performer at heart.
When the revelation of Nick’s past made its way to social media, it didn’t take long for folks expressed how shocked they were by all that Nick has accomplished.
“I kept telling my wife that Nick reminded me of some character actor. Then, after a bit of Googling, I discover that he *is* that character actor! And, apparently, a physicians assistant, too?! Wow!” one person wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “@Jeopardy champ Nick Cascone was in Titanic?! New favorite champ!!!” another exclaimed in March 2021, from when he was initially on the show.
Despite keeping his acting past hush-hush on the show, Nick did eventually speak out about being a former actor on X. When a fan commented how no one has asked him about his time working on Titanic, he mentioned that he had in fact brought it up when he was originally on in 2021.
“Talked about it in the only game I lost so far, back in 2021 with (guest host) Dr. [Mehmet] Oz,” he wrote on November 27. “Bad luck to bring up a disaster?“
Needless to say, if the Academy Award-winning film becomes an eventual category on the next Tournament of Champions, we have a feeling Nick will absolutely dominate!
