Fox News Host Kat Timpf Reveals Cancer Diagnosis Hours Before Giving Birth
Fox News personality Kat Timpf has shared a deeply personal and shocking revelation: she was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before giving birth to her first child. The 36-year-old, known for her sharp wit and commentary on Gutfeld!, made the announcement in an Instagram post, detailing the whirlwind of emotions she faced during this life-changing moment.
A Life-Changing 24 Hours
Timpf remained on the air well into her third trimester, often addressing criticism from viewers about her decision to continue working while heavily pregnant. However, nothing could have prepared her for the unexpected news she received shortly before going into labor.
“Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” Timpf shared. “My doctors say it’s stage zero and are confident that it almost certainly hasn’t spread.”
Despite the shocking diagnosis, Timpf maintained her characteristic humor in recounting the chaotic day that led up to her son’s birth. “I woke up more than a week past due, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out. By the afternoon, I was waddling from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out.”
She even joked about the situation, asking if she could get a copy of her tumor ultrasound to put on the fridge next to her baby’s ultrasound.
Welcoming Her Son
Timpf, who has been married to Army veteran Cameron Friscia since 2021, also revealed that she and her husband welcomed a baby boy. She only learned the gender at birth, describing the experience as both joyful and surreal.
“Finally, by the middle of the night, I was crawling around the floor of my apartment in spontaneous labor before heading to the hospital to meet my baby, whom I’d learn at the time of birth was a son.”
Now officially on maternity leave, Timpf is adjusting to her new life as a mother while also preparing for the next steps in her cancer treatment. “These next three months of maternity leave are going to look a lot different than I’d anticipated, and I’m still getting used to my new reality.”
Facing Criticism While Expecting
Throughout her pregnancy, Timpf was no stranger to public scrutiny. She frequently addressed critics who questioned her decision to work late into her third trimester.
“I am under the close care of a doctor, and I promise that both of us know and care far more about my health and the health of my own baby than any random online stranger does from just seeing me on TV,” she wrote in response to negative comments about her baby bump and workload.
Despite facing criticism, Timpf remained steadfast in her dedication to her career. Just days before giving birth, she humorously addressed her pregnancy status on Instagram, saying, “Yes, I’m still pregnant. Yes, I’m past my due date. Yes, this is the longest pregnancy of all time.”
Gratitude Amid Challenges
Now, as she navigates both motherhood and a cancer diagnosis, Timpf is choosing to focus on gratitude. “I’m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I’m lucky to be my son’s mom. I mean, I know I’m biased, but the little dude absolutely rules – and not just because he might have saved my life.”
As she embarks on this challenging yet rewarding journey, Timpf’s resilience and humor remain unwavering, proving once again why she is a beloved figure in the world of television news.
