Reba McEntire sweetly called her partner, Rex Linn, the ‘love of her life’ as she gushed about their nearly five-year relationship following two divorces. 

The Heart Won’t Lie singer, 69 – who is currently a judge on the competition series The Voice – opened up about their romance during an interview with Us Weekly that was published on Wednesday.

McEntire and Linn currently star together on the upcoming NBC sitcom, Happy’s Place, which is set to premiere later this month on October 18.

The star – who began dating the CSI: Miami actor, 67, back in 2020 – talked about her happiness and stated, ‘I’ve got two great jobs. I have a love of my life, Rex Linn.’

‘We’ve been together for almost five years. And my health is good, his health is good. My family is healthy. What more could I ask for?’

Reba also dished on their ‘dynamic’ when they are not in front of the camera and told the outlet they are ‘best friends.’

‘We have the same likes and dislikes. We’re foodies. We love to cook. We each wanted to be a cowboy and a cowgirl. Then we got into the entertainment business instead. Our dynamic works on and off-screen.’

She also opened up about working with Linn, explaining, ‘We love to act. We want to be prepared. So, he and I rehearse a lot. We did a Lifetime movie together. We did Big Sky on ABC.’

‘We’ve both been on Young Sheldon, and now we’re doing Happy’s Place together, so we get real serious about rehearsals and we know our dialogue for sure. To have fun and be comfortable with dialogue, you’ve got to know it. We work hard on that.’

But when the couple – who first crossed paths in 1991 – are not on set, Reba revealed they enjoy watching a good game of college football.

‘If not, we’re rehearsing or going outside and feeding the birds and watering the rose garden. We just love to be together.’

McEntire has been married twice and tied the knot in 1976 to Charlie Battles but they divorced in 1987. Two years later, she married Narvel Blackstock but the former couple split in 2015.

In regards to how her current relationship with Rex has ‘changed’ her, the songstress said, ‘I think we have made each other better.’

‘If not, we’re rehearsing or going outside and feeding the birds and watering the rose garden. We just love to be together,’ she said

‘Rex brings out the little girl in me and I have fun. I’m dorky, I’m goofy. He is too. We love to laugh, and we love each other. We both love watching television. We’re always on the lookout for a new series or movie to watch.’

She continued, ‘He says that it’s his homework, watching other actors and learning from them. I do it for pure enjoyment. Right now we’re streaming The Penguin.’

Reba then got candid about whether she would get married again in the future and told Us Weekly, ‘It makes no difference to me. I’m fine with the way we are.’

‘If Rex ever wants to get married, then we’ll talk about it, but I’m fine. I love our relationship 100 percent.’

McEntire also shared the secret to their relationship and expressed, ‘I have his back, and he has mine. That’s very important. I feel very safe with Rex.’

The Reba actress and Rex first crossed paths in 1991 while on set of the film, The Gambler Returns: The Luck Of The Draw.

The pair reconnected years later and in October 2020, the actress revealed that she was dating Linn on her Living & Learning podcast. 

‘It’s good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what’s going on. Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress,’ she said at the time.

In regards to how her current relationship with Rex has ‘changed’ her, the songstress said, ‘I think we have made each other better’

‘And he’s very into my music. I’m very into his career,’ McEntire added. ‘Whatever happens in the future, we’re very stable. I look forward to having more things to look forward to.’

And later that same year, the couple made their red carpet debut as they attended the CMA Awards.

While on Today in 2021, Reba explained, ‘Rex and I have known each other since ’91 when we were in The Gambler movie together with Kenny Rogers and then have known each other, kept in contact.’

She revealed that Rex called her when her mother, Jacqueline McEntire, became ill and also was by her side after her mom’s passing.

‘We’d gotten to see each other before because we’re both on Young Sheldon. So starting in March of 2020, we just kept talking and visiting and finally got together, see each other in June. And we’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since.’

Linn has also made appearances on her Instagram page since the pair struck up a romance four years ago.

Reba and Rex co-star in the upcoming NBC sitcom, Happy’s Place, which will begin airing on October 18.

The premise is: ‘Bobbie (Reba) inherits a restaurant from her late father, then learns she must share ownership with a newly discovered half-sister, creating awkward tension between the two,’ per IMDB. 

Linn took on the role of a chef named Emmett in the show, while other cast members include Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Belissa Escobedo and Tokala Black Elk.

Ahead of the show’s release and amidst her role as a judge on The Voice, Reba talked about how she has stayed ‘grounded’ during her successful career.

‘I surround myself with people who are not yes-people. If I ever get a little egotistical, a little too big for my britches, they always say, “Don’t get too big for your raisin!”‘ she said.

McEntire also discussed being a Voice coach, explaining the contestants, ‘don’t have to have the perfect voice. They don’t have to be on pitch. They have to make me feel something.’

The star later responded to speculation that she won’t return to The Voice after the 26th season.

‘I love The Voice. I love being a part of the NBC family with Happy’s Place. I’m having the time of my life.’
