Sometimes, the right price comes at an even better cost.
Kate Steinberg, a former contestant on “The Price Is Right,” revealed some behind-the-scenes conditions that viewers don’t see after you win big on the game show.
In December, the TikTokker walked away from the CBS series with the news of a brand new car. After host Drew Carey told her what she had won, Steinberg dropped to the ground in disbelief before running to hug model Rachel Reynolds, who was standing next to the vehicle.

Now, four months later, the social media personality is taking followers along to pick up her prize and disclosing game show secrets.

“What happens is, when you win a car on ‘The Price is Right’ — I won a Nissan Versa — you can keep that car or you can take that credit and get a new car, and that’s what I did,” Steinberg said in her Saturday TikTok video.
“We’re going to pick up the car right now,” she said.
“Here’s my car,” Steinberg gushed before showing off a white Toyota RAV4. “Holy s–t. This is such an upgrade!”
She then shared a clip of her fiancé, Chad Savage, becoming excited before the two took a drive in the new whip. Steinberg ended the sweet video dancing in front of the Toyota, kissing the hood of the car and showing off her new license plate frame that read, “I won this car on the Price is Right.”

Fans flocked to the comments section to share their reactions about her massive win.
“Oh that’s nice they let you ‘trade it’ for something the same value,” one follower wrote, while a second chimed in, “Drew Carey still waiting to give you a congratulatory handshake.”
In December, Savage, who got engaged to Steinberg on the dating show “12 Dates of Christmas” in 2020, shared his reaction to his other half winning a car.
“She wasn’t messing with me,” Savage captioned a TikTok showing off the couple’s FaceTime call post-win.

He also filmed himself watching the episode on television, jokingly dropping his jaw and letting a bag of chips he was holding fall to the floor.
“The Price is Right” is in its 53rd season and continues to be the longest-running game show on television since hitting the air in 1972.
The series sees contestants guess the prices of merchandise in order to win both cash and prizes.
Bob Barker hosted “The Price is Right” from the show’s debut until his retirement in 2007. The “Price is Right” vet died in 2023 at age 99. Carey, 66, took over for Barker after he stepped down.

In February, Carey got candid on being the host for 18 years after the show reached its 10,000th episode.
“They told me it was my 3,317th episode. Sometimes I feel like it’s not that long, and sometimes I feel like I’ve always been there,” he told Variety at the time. When it’s pointed out to him that he has been host for one-third of its run, he adds with a laugh, “Bob Barker is two-thirds. I’m still the new guy!”
While on the show, the announcer calls the contestants’ names to head to the stage, using the iconic catchphrase: “Come on down!”

Carey reminisced on hearing the signature phrase announced for the first time on set, recalling, “I couldn’t believe how loud it was.”
“I thought my hair was gonna blow back. I used to wear an Apple watch. I had to change the settings because all of a sudden, my watch was going off all the time during the show, telling me I was in a loud environment,” he added.
Stepping in for Barker, Carey said, “I don’t need to walk in his shoes; I brought my own shoes.”
“I want to honor the show — certainly — and not forget about the importance of him and the path that he blazed,” he added. “It’s very important to keep the memory of Bob alive. I’m not replacing anybody. I’m just doing a show that he used to do.”
